16 Points - Sense of Perspective

Yes, he said United could still win it.

And, that...
- RM once lost six games in a row to not win a title
- that the squad has lost three matches in a week but still capable of winning two more
- and talked about the injury issues with Aguero

All in all, I guess I would file it under taking comments that are indeed factual although not exactly probable and piling on when he’s a bit deflated.
Ok thanks, don't like that RM comment, I think we would all take a draw against spuds, cant wait till its won now tbh.

I've watched the press conference and Pep doesn't look deflated at all. He answers questions honestly, press have seized on the Real Madrid comments but he was making a point, he's told the players to keep doing what they've been doing all season, two wins or a win and two draws. It's intriguing how people listen to the media spin and view comments differently, glass half full and it's a positive presser, glass half empty and Pep has given up. My glass is overflowing to the tune of 13 points and 6 games and I won't let a bad week spoil it, regardless even of tonight's result.........although a win would be very welcome.

Cos they’ve won their last 5, cos they’ve got easy games left and cos they’re lucky bastards
After this week-end's games their games are a bit harder than ours overall, and they'll have to get at least 11 points more than us over five games (make that 12 or 14 if we draw or win tonight).

So in theory it's a doddle. But I've mentioned Real's 03-04 collapse before on here as proof of what's POSSIBLE, even if it's extraordinarily unlikely. I'm not going to start flapping unless we lose tonight and next week against Swansea as well!

Here’s my prediction...
United out of fa cup next Saturday
Sunday we win the league

Season in tatters!!!!!

There are a number of things that must be considered

1. Utd are (unfortunately) capable of winning the last 6 games - the only slightly difficult one is Arsenal and even in good seasons, arsenal regularly roll over at OT so there is little hope that this season would be any different - utd will bully them of the park. The rest of their games are very easily winnable for them so its not beyond any realm of possibility that Utd will win all of them.....

WestBrom (home) - probably already down, simply dreadful - easy win
Bournemouth (Away) -- nothing to play for - easy win
Brighton (Away) - fighting relegation - could be difficult
Arsenal (home) - easy win - Arsenal are spineless and will just roll over.
Westham (away) - might be difficult as potentially fighting relegation - they are the one team i think that have the best chance of beating utd.
Watford (home) - probably be safe - easy win (last game of season

2. We are capable of dropping more points...especially this weekend....I believe we will lost at spurs...we look completely out on our legs at present. So if utd beat West Brom they are 10 pts behind with 5 games to go......

3. All of the teams we are due to play

Swansea
Westham
Southampton
Huddersfield
Brighton

are in the relegation fight - this makes them a lot more dangerous especially the ones that we have to play away (though Southampton could be down by the time we play them). Middle of the table teams with nothing to play for would be easier. Teams will follow either utds plan (high balls into the box) or Liverpools plan...high fast paced press.

The biggest issue for me is the loss of Kun and the shakiness we are now showing infront of goal...sterling, sane and GJ are struggling and none have the character at present to carry us when needed. KDB and Silva look knackered, and Ilky G upsets the balance of the team when he is in. ON top of that Otto seems to have suddenly regressed to his worse under Pellegrini.

We should win it.....but I've been saying all along it will be closer than a lot of people were making out.

... Or we beat spurs and Swansea and win the league. :)
