16 Points - Sense of Perspective

... Or we beat spurs and Swansea and win the league. :)

I would absolutely love that and normally itha fully fit Kun and Ferna in the team and us playing well then Id say we would beat spurs....but the affect of the last 3 games on today cannot be overlooked and nor can the loss of both those players...the team look exhausted and basically stopped playing in both the second half of the utd game and the liverpool game (at home) -due to mental and physical affects of the games....

I don't think I could cope with the media wankfest if we some how threw it away and the rags snatched it at the death.

I don't think it's as bad as it looks. A shit 20 minutes against Liverpool in the first leg affectively killed the second leg, we had to go hell for leather and it killed us, so not a true reflection. We played really well against the rags first half but had a brain fart second half, which happens from time to time.

wel i hope you are right...i don't think it was a brain fart...i think we are capable of being bullied and utd did that....we are very capable of being bullied by Spurrs midfield who are athletic and powerful. Ilky just leaves us wide open when playing, its not coincidence that the losses have come when the balance of the midfield has been messed around with and now without ferna it will happen again.

Sorry mate but it was a bit more than 20 mins. No shots for 90 mins in a CL QF tells it's own tale.

There are a number of things that must be considered

1. Utd are (unfortunately) capable of winning the last 6 games - the only slightly difficult one is Arsenal and even in good seasons, arsenal regularly roll over at OT so there is little hope that this season would be any different - utd will bully them of the park. The rest of their games are very easily winnable for them so its not beyond any realm of possibility that Utd will win all of them.....

WestBrom (home) - probably already down, simply dreadful - easy win
Bournemouth (Away) -- nothing to play for - easy win
Brighton (Away) - fighting relegation - could be difficult
Arsenal (home) - easy win - Arsenal are spineless and will just roll over.
Westham (away) - might be difficult as potentially fighting relegation - they are the one team i think that have the best chance of beating utd.
Watford (home) - probably be safe - easy win (last game of season

2. We are capable of dropping more points...especially this weekend....I believe we will lost at spurs...we look completely out on our legs at present. So if utd beat West Brom they are 10 pts behind with 5 games to go......

3. All of the teams we are due to play

Swansea
Westham
Southampton
Huddersfield
Brighton

are in the relegation fight - this makes them a lot more dangerous especially the ones that we have to play away (though Southampton could be down by the time we play them). Middle of the table teams with nothing to play for would be easier. Teams will follow either utds plan (high balls into the box) or Liverpools plan...high fast paced press.

The biggest issue for me is the loss of Kun and the shakiness we are now showing infront of goal...sterling, sane and GJ are struggling and none have the character at present to carry us when needed. KDB and Silva look knackered, and Ilky G upsets the balance of the team when he is in. ON top of that Otto seems to have suddenly regressed to his worse under Pellegrini.

We should win it.....but I've been saying all along it will be closer than a lot of people were making out.

Pretty much how I see it too. The injury to Sergio really is a shitter

Swansea are crap. Theyve had a Mini revival but mostly at home and against rivals. We are playing them at home. Huddesrfield are in freefall and again we play them at home. Brighton aren't anywhere near as good on the road. West ham have a shit defence and two geriatric full backs (love you Zabba). 12 easy points.

Southampton will already be relegated by the time we play them on the last day and won’t break sweat
