Was excellent yesterday, really turned it around. I don't think he was ever 'bad', just so different to Fernandinho and we had a bad year last year (for our lofty standards anyway), but he looks a lot better with a solid defence behind him.

Still wish he was a bit quicker/stronger though.

This might sound odd but one thing I’ve noticed is that he seems to be moving his feet a bit quicker in possession recently. He has a peculiar, atypical wide legged stance and running style which made him slow to turn and susceptible to having the ball taken off him when pressed. Seems like a small adjustment has made him much better balanced. Good coaching.

Fernandinho is obviously very hard boots to fill, but his form over the last few months is very encouraging. Hopefully the injury is not serious

On ESPN last night, they compared him to Busquets..his form of late has been tremendous..another player to have taken a little time to blend, not everyone can be a Dias. Just hope the injury is very mild as he seems the kind of player who needs a good run of games.

Not everyone can be a Dias. Or a Aguero.

here’s a graph to show where he sits against others in terms of risk v possession.

my eyes tell me in recent weeks he’s completely turned this around so it will be interesting to see this chart end of season.

Sorry, what do you mean turned it around? This graph shows him to be one of the most secure passers in the league with good ball progression for a 6.

I would say it was more of a slide rule pass than sideways, but it was a brilliant ball through to Sterling
My comment was sarcastic. Read some earlier posts on this thread for context. Some "experts" claimed he could only pass backwards and sideways amongst a list of other skills he lacked, they are a little quieter now.

I'm highlighting the most important part of Pep's statements for those who are attuned to revisionist history.

Not recently...

Not after a formation or tactical change....

But "all season"

There! I'm done. :)
Nice try. But remember those wanting Pep out, they know better than Pep and may misinterpret your reliance on his words to support your case.
