Yes thought he played well but had to be more careful on the ball. Wasn't there a5 on 3 break after he was disposed on half way line?
Yeah, as it said outside of the couple of lapses he would have been my MOTM but as they did happen it had to be Mahrez. He wasn't the only player to be dispossessed though and it is going to happen from time to time, KDB must have done it twice as much overall. It's how he and the team recovers and he did finish strong. I certainly don't think that spell Wolves had was down to Rodri, more like KDB and Bernie needing to up their own game in response to Wolves upping theirs. As soon as that happened we wrestled back control of the middle of the pitch.

His own tackling was spot on at times. I actually think the ref got a couple of the ones he called a foul wrong. Especially in the context of the one he let go against him which floored him with a player wrapping his leg across him to touch the ball. Suppose he better get used to that as a City player, double standards galore.

Great performance today but same issue as with CL. Lapses in concentration, lost Coady for Wolves goal, was responsible for giving away the free kick too. Also some other very silly fouls that allowed them to look dangerous before we scored the 2nd.

Aside that largely good in posession and distribution the obvious highlight.

Sorry mate but that was down to the blind referee.

It's soft but it's still a free kick. You get that given these days, even in CL. Just needs to be clever, Fernandinho never gives away soft fouls unless he is absolutely certain that the opponent might create a big opportunity from the situation.

That’s total bollocks about Fernandinho. All players give away needless fouls now and again

I'm sure I saw a stat which shows one of Rodri's strengths over Fernandinho is that he wins the ball without giving fouls away far more. It's one of the tradeoffs Fernandinho has for being more combative than Rodri. Rodri is more measured overall.

Also that was simply not a foul and that wasn't the only time the ref blew up when Rodri had won the ball fairly. As I said fairer than the tackle that left him floored for one of Wolves counters. They only got a foot on the ball after wrapping their leg around the front of Rodri. They were chosing to go down over minimal contact, Rodri was knocked off his feet. It's double standards galore when City play with certain refs but it did them no good.

Have you watched Fernandihno? He gives away soft fouls all the time.
