He was hung out to dry by our tactics. If there was ever a game to get Bernie close to him it was tonight. Gundo and KDB have their obvious strengths, I’m not sure having a fucking war in the middle of the park with Atletico are among them.

Atletico played smart by cutting our line to Rodri.

Pep didn't seem to act fast enough in overcoming this, as you said, putting Bernie there would have helped alot as Atletico certainly would have had a much tougher time with him than Kevin in the midfield.

It's obviously very difficult to say one player matters more than any other, but he's arguably our most sorely missed player when he's not there, just because the control he gives us is the platform for everyone else to play.
