Why didn’t he have his shirt tucked in his shorts last night, looked a bit scruffy for my liking ;)

The players vote for their own captain.

Terrible way to do it IMO. None of them are going to want to rock the boat so they'll vote for the most experienced head in the dressing room. There's a reason very few managers go with the voting method.

Maybe that's one of the reasons why our manager has been more successful than the others.

A captain isn't there to rock the boat, they're there to steady the ship. Players will take that into account when they're choosing.

It's actually how most clubs in Spain, Portugal and South America do it.

And it seems to have worked pretty well for Pep over the last 30 years.

What? Don't you know that the best way to decide who gets the armband is to hand it to whoever's been here longest and reevaluate every August?

Is it worth pointing out that our club captain, Gundogan, is not the longest serving player at the club? That would be KDB.

And Aguero was the most experienced and long serving player while Fernandinho was captain.

Which seems to torpedo your theory that they won't rock the boat and just choose the most experienced player.
