What a player. He is a genuinely world class talent and a humble man who is willing to learn. That combination, in conjunction with a coach as capable as Pep, is a frightening one, and the prospect of his further improvement must be as daunting for the rest of football, as exciting as it is for us.

His first season's performance thread is enlightening and shows us, surely, that players need to be given time and be supported by fans. The Grealish thread is the same, and now the Phillips thread. Support our own.
 
One of the sloppiest performances we've seen for a while from him tonight, lost it a few times in really dangerous positions and his passing was off. Was his pass which lead to ake's stretch and injury too. We're all allowed one, let's hope it was just that and not tiredness creeping in. Maybe phillips starts weekend and rodri gets a rest ahead of arsenal.

Maybe the added benefit of Stones in midfield is that he can do the Rodri role himself some games to rest Rodders. Phillips has played himself straight out of the team every time he has gotten on the pitch sadly

They all were sloppy at times. We came up against a very strong team and bested them. He is allowed the off off game. Philips is no use so he is gonna have to keep going. Needs the rest at the weekend.

Pretty much everyone aside from Eddie was sloppy at times today.

In many ways he is a victim of his own brilliance: he has set the bar so high that even a decent display against the second best team in Europe, desperate to score at almost any cost (with nothing really to lose), at their ground, with crowd booing and jeering your every touch, is considered “shite”.
 
Bayern are probably the second best team in Europe, it’s always going to be tough , did more than enough for me
 
Looked out on his feet at the end. Wrap him up in cotton wool and rest versus Sheffield.
