I think in Benzema's absence Real used Bellingham as basically a false 9/CF. He excelled in the box, specifically scoring goals, but it looks like he lost all his acumen as a box to box midfielder. His success at Madrid helped create a false narrative of him being a 10. When has he ever excelled as a 10? JMO...I still reckon Vini Jr will get the Ballon d'Or. Real Madrid innit bruv.
Hopefully Rodri wins, he deserves it. That's not to say Vinicius Jr would be undeserving, he's rightfully in the conversation too.
Good to see Bellingham out of the running though, he isn't winning it now and it would be a stain on the award if either of those two lost out to him. Bellingham will never be in the running again. A 4 month purple patch completely masked the fact he's bang average overall.

Yep. Unless he recommits to grafting like a real midfielder. At this point that's not a certainty...And he's likely gonna be put into a more midfield role at Madrid. They've just signed Mbappe and Endrick to add to their forward line.
Bellingham will be dropped deeper and expected to replace someone like Kroos. Then he'll be exposed.
That's bad news for us.. our lads need a proper rest..int football fks us right upJust looked at some stuff on the bbc webshite and the team with the most players is down as Bournemouth with ten and City with nine, although our ten played ten times more minutes than the B ten, but the staggering thing is that Rodri didn't make the Opta team of the tournament.
