Same certainly not. Tends to effect players with explosive pace more though. Most seem to recover very well from those injuries these days

i dont really watch Sane. was he ever good enough to hold down a place at a top club though? . he was in and out and city due to attitude and application so perhaps the same issues at bayern

He definitely lost some pace post knee injury mate. Watched him loads of times since even when he’s had some very good games and seen defenders get back at him when he’d have been gone from them pre injury.

I don't watch enough of Sane to say whether the ACL significantly changed his game, but he was Bayern's third most used player last season, and looking at the minutes he plays, has been one of the most used players over the last few seasons. Whoscored had him rated as the third best player in the Bundesliga last season too.

I think that qualifies as holding down a place at a top club.

Except Yaya Toure, I can't remember any player since 2008, who had the same importance as Rodri.

11/12, 12/13, especially 13/14, Toure's importance grew and in the end, he was so influential that after his form began to decline due to age, we started to have the crisis, as team wasn't ready to perform well without him.

14/15, 15/16, 16/17 we had the crisis, couldn't win against the top teams, etc.

And I think we were going to the same direction, if Rodri hadn't been injured.
Rodri's 23/24 season and Toure's 13/14 season are the same in that term - goals, assists, one man carrying the team.

Of course Rodri still had 5-6 years of prime football left, when Toure was 31 at the end of 13/14, but that decline would still have happened and if depending on Rodri continued, we would have hit more serious crisis, considering we wouldn't have had manager like Pep to find the solution, like it happened, at the end of 15/16 season.

Now club has the opportunity to self-reflect and find out where we are truly, as Rodri being the type of player Fergie used to say "give me Rodri and 10 pieces of wood and I will still win the title", makes you believe that you are doing well in all the departments, but reality is that someone has aged, someone isn't the player he was anymore, someone only looked good because of..., etc.

So I think that this injury situation will help us a lot. We will find our our weaknesses, solve them, learn to play without Rodri and Pep still being here, means that we have the best manager to find that solution and once everything is sorted out and Rodri returns, we will be twice stronger, than we were at the beginning of the season.

Pep's main job now is to once again rebuild the team and leave it so, that it is able to play high level football for the next 5-6 years.
