For 60 minutes he showed just why we've missed him. Marshalling everyone, soaking up any attacks and passing the ball through the lines with ease. Then the fatigue hit and despite having options on the bench he continued.

Once he can play a solid and consistent 90 minutes we'll be so much better. But it's a concern the manager doesn't feel confident enough in replacing him after all the money we have invested.
 
Doubt he'll renew that contract any time soon lol. Madrid will probably be quite tempting if we have another poor season.
 
The only way he extends is if the quality around him drastically improves. No more Nunes signings, no more unnecessary extensions (I.e Dias). Our next few signings need to be guaranteed quality

2027 is not far away at all, and he won't accept playing for a top 4 side at his peak I think. If he's not renewed by next summer, We'll probably have to sell.
 
He’s won it all. He’s 29 and contracted till end 26/27. He has maybe 3/4 years left at top level and doesn’t want to waste any of this time whilst we rebuild. Good for him for stating the bleeding obvious.

Say he fancied Real or PSG or even Barca if they find the cash - how much could we get for him next summer? It’s a scary thought but if he doesn’t sign in the next few weeks then his eye may be wandering. Hopefully the deal is largely agreed but we were waiting for him to get fit before moving on it.
 
His interview is a little concerning. I hope he’s not becoming a bit disillusioned. Get that contract signed, Rodders.

what he means we need to adjust lot of thing not just on the pitch but outside too?

Guarantee they won't
 
he was about to sign pre injury if i remember the reporting correctly, but if I were him I wouldn't go near a contract till at least the new year, to see how its panning out. Thats what van dijk and salah did, and they got better deals for themselves and guarantees of investment. Rodri is too much of a winner to take running out his career at a declining team. It'll be improve, or else.
