16 | Rodri 2025/26

He was dead on his feet after 70 mins against the Rags. I hope he starts and gets a solid 60-65 mins, then gets a rest. Can’t see anything strenuous between Napoli and The Arse, so an hour shouldn’t kill him.

Starts all 3 games, but probably finishes none.

He can play 30-45 minutes vs Napoli (2nd half?) and 60 minutes vs Arsenal.

Gonna take him a while to get up to speed. He was much better than he was against Brighton
I expect he'll improve incrementally each game as the muscle memory kicks in and his sharpness/fitness improve. He's had a long stretch out. I think if all goes well he'll be more like the Rodri we know in the second half of the season. I think we have to look at cup comps this season as I suspect the team will click second half.

You have suggested he'll be "made of glass" if he keeps getting injured. You posted his injury record in order to back up your perspective. The guy missed 8 games in 3 seasons and then gets what was once a career ending injury. An injury that is known to take a long time to recover from.

Questioning his injury record is absolutely absurd.
He’s American, obviously doesn’t know a lot about proper football, maybe he should stick to rounders or whatever other American sport he watches.

That record shows he is anything but injury prone.
Until 2024, Rodri has been a rock - almost entirely injury free.

But starting in July of 2024, Rodri has been injured for 299 days - missing 57 games as a result - the vast majority of which were due to his cruciate ligament tear (53 games) but he's been injured for 63 days due to incidents both before and after that major setback.

As of late - he's been injury prone.

It may be a fluke - I hope so - or it may be a trend. It's a cause for concern.

He’s still in recovery from his ACL injury.

Recovery time can be upwards of 18 months to be back at peak performance in elite contact sports, and it’s not even been 12 months yet (22nd September 2024). And it can take up to 24 months for the hamstring tendon operated on to replace the ACL, to ligamentise.

As part of ACL recovery, injuring the ligamentising hamstring tendon and picking up secondary injuries elsewhere in the lower body are common.
