Pep mentioned “physical and mental” issues with Rodri in his pre Newcastle presser. I might be reading too much into that but maybe Rodri still doesn’t trust his fitness and is being over cautious?

The club want him to sign. The problem isn't at the City end.
Don't be surprised if he goes to Madrid for a fee in the summer or on a free the year after.
Hoping a positive verdict from the panel can change things.

If its his desire to leave, and there is a good offer then its better to accept it and move on.

He was pointing whenever he had opportunity how overplayed an tired he was long before the injury.
And then the injury, the worst kind, came and it is wait and see now.
Gundo completely recovered and played his best football, although in slightly different role, after comiong back.
Leroy has never been the same player after injury.
And I watched a documentary on Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles RB, he had a nasty ACL totally torn, that post op scar still gives me chills, and yet he recovered for the following season and did some good running for both Giants and won it with Eagles.
As I said it is wait and see, although it is really worrying it is taking so long.

Doubt we'll see Rodri again this side of 2025. Pep says he's getting closer but we're going to keep him out longer. Hopefully the plan works and we can get him fit.

No, but if he wants to leave, we'd have no choice but to cash in. But not for Neves. We have to identify the next great CM.
