Was immense today and we still lost… maybe we do have problems

For 1 half. He sucked in the 2nd. Especially late when the pressure was on. He should have been subbed out by Pep.

But Pep is in his error arc the last 18 months so no surprise there.

He was understandably less effective when those around him were letting him down but exceeded expectations of a player at that stage of his recovery.

No coincidence we lost any sort of control when he faded in the 2nd half. Slightly worrying that even a 80% Rodri is levels above anything else we have in midfield.

Good question, particularly when we only used 4 substitutes and had Gonzalez on the bench.

I don’t understand why we don’t stick Rodri and Gonzalez next to each other. Rodri was superb today but faded as the game went on - only normal, it was his first start in 11 months - Nico could have done some of the dogs work alongside him.

So calm and controlled amongst the utter mayhem of every other player ( on both sides!) in the sort of game we used to win at a canter.

Doku, O Reilly and Lewis coming on as the cavalry kind of summed our current descent into mid table mediocrity.

Looked great for a hour which is brilliant. Bad management to keep him on after 70 mins. He was knackered and we weren’t playing well any more. Fresh legs on bench too.

Was excellent for sixty minutes and then noticeably declined. He needed help from the guys around him but unfortunately they're just not up to it.

He looked genuinely livid at the end of the game. Suspect he had some strong words in the dressing room after.

Yeah, just glad he’s not captain and we’ve got an ex great player who’s battling against quicksand to lead by example.
