16 | Rodri 2025/26

Three games in a week is pretty taxing considering he's still getting up to speed...

But not playing Rodri against arsenal? It would almost feel like fielding a weaker side because we think we might lose anyway.

I think I'd see if he can manage today and rest him next weekend v Burnley. I know that's not really how it works and the third game in a week might be the straw that breaks the camels back, so to speak, so conventional wisdom would be not to let that happen.

If we do rest him vs Arsenal, I'd question why we didn't rest him vs Napoli instead. I'd have fancied us more against Napoli than Arsenal without him, plus we've already lost two of the first 4 in the league and could do with him vs Arsenal.

Let's see. I hope he plays and I'll just pray he comes out of it OK.

It took rodri to ask to come off to protect himself .
He will be probably get a few niggly injuries this season .
At times baldy can run players into the ground ,silva looks like he needs a rest already .
Rodri ,Ake & stones haven't got continous game time in them physically .
Play them then rest them .
Only way of trying to avoid niggles .

Bernado has looked like he's needed a good rest for about 18 months

If he plays, I'll be praying along with you. I agree he should not have played against Napoli. But Pep's philosophy is always focus on next game.

A phenomenon. Wonderful footballer. A perfect mixture of resilience and guile. His mentality makes such a big difference to the side and you can tell.

Little by Little, convinced Pep bullshits the press cos if he was struggling no way could he have done 90 mins.
Class is permanent.

Hopefully we got away with it but that was very risky having him play 3 games in a week and 90 minutes in the last. Got to take better care of him than that. looked absolutely fucked to the point he could barely move towards the end. Have him in for his recovery session tomorrow then give the guy a few days off. Shouldn't even travel to hudddersfield.

3 games in a week was a risk … but thought he looked leggy today which isn’t surprising.

The bigger concern for me was buying Nico Gonzalez for £60m when Zubimendi cost less and is streets ahead.

Encouraging step. Looked leggy but that's expected. Rest him fully (not even on the bench) against Huddersfield.

Pep, please, just don't play him vs Huddersfield and play Nico, maybe Kovacic is back

Hopefully, just rested today, after a week that surely tested his general fitness and knee health.

Although the result suggests we were fine, we missed his composure and ability to dictate the tempo in the middle part of the game, today.
