16 | Rodri 2025/26

The decision to plzy him 3 straight was so dumb :(

That point at the Emirates might win us the League yet. The win vs Napoli might spare us the CL play-off. We were also on the verge of crisis going into those 3 games, I'd say it was a calculated risk that paid off, it's not like his knees gone again thankfully, he was always going to pick up niggles after his injury, the same goes for Bobb.

Here's the thing - Rodri suffered the very worst ACL injury - not only did he sever the ACL - he severed both meniscuses.

I'm not a doctor, but I gather from Internet searches that full recovery from this worst-case ACL injury is unlikely - and because of this worst case scenario - whatever level of recovery is possible is going to take especially long.

In terms of this season - we have Rodri at 6 - but we can't count on him - and Nico G. - now injured and that's not Nico's best position - and from there - with no good backup at 6 - we're in trouble against numerous dangerous P/L sides.

And in spite of what you've posted... for me... Rodri is glass. Love the guy, hope I'm wrong, but FFS, why are we starting him if he's not 100% fully fit?... and when he does start... it's a game or three until he's injured again.
I've played with guys who blew their ACL and MCL at one time. They made full recoveries and I'm sure they did not have the rehab team available to them that Rodri has. It just takes time, plain and simple. The bigger concern for me is what's between Rodri's ears. It's starting to look like he's looking to bail. I LOVE Rodri but lately some of the stuff he says is making him come across as a front runner.

you're not the only one who's thinking that.

He's been offered a contract and he didn't sign it.. maybe we were too slow.. and he wants to go to Real.

To be honest he's 30 and if I didn't love him.. I'd say that's not a bad time to cash out.

IMO, Rodri may have suffered a massive injury which means that he'll frequently be unavailable for us - and when available - he'll likely be nowhere near hist best form.

Blah, blah, blah, such injuries take time to heal...

FFS! Rodri suffered the worst sort of ACL injuries, severing all three tendons. Given such an injury, full recovery is unlikely - and yet... when deemed fit to start - he's injured again. And again.

Posts claiming that this is natural after an ACL injury... well fine. But FFS - Rodri experienced the very worst ACL injury and every time or so when he starts - he's injured again.

I think that Rodri is done as a top footballer.

Ballon Dior winner not withstanding - sell him.

He won't be 30 until next July but I get your point. The fact that he's one of my all-time favorites makes it impossible for me to say show him the door. Loyalty cuts both ways. He's given everything to this club and we've stood by him during this tough time. Him returning to good health and then leaving with 400K a week on offer would leave a bad taste. It's not the same situation as KDB, Gundo, D Silva, Aguero, Mahrez, or Kompany who were all older and no longer at their peak.

I think this might surpass your Donnarumma posts.

Kalvin is for whatever reason never almost never played. Pep doesn't trust him at all it seems.

As for Rodri - beats me whether or not he recovers from his worst case ACL injury - I very much hope he does.

Meanwhile, the only DM I trust when Rodri can't play is Nico G. ... and once NG is injured - we're screwed at DM.

Rodri will come back strong and that will be the end of the transition. The new Pep team will be a fact. When? Roughly, the second half of the season.
