I've started reaching the tipping point where I think he's our best ever.
I reckon he is.

I never saw Peter Doherty or Colin Bell. There were people who saw both who said that Doherty was possibly better than Bell, although I think Wilf Wild said that Bell was better.

Obviously Bert Trautmann is still in the mix as he’s the biggest legend, our biggest ever name, although being a goalkeeper it might be a stretch to say a goalkeeper is our best ever player.

David Silva is the most consistent and best tempo setting player I’ve ever seen but he never reached the top level of impact on games that Yaya, Kun and de Bruyne could.

And of those three, de Bruyne’s all round game and footballing ability is #1.

I worshipped Bell and in many ways he was the prototype that Kev has become . KdB is more of a consistent stand out star player. He is our galactico. Also the modern day game is faster and more physical though the ball and playing surfaces were shocking in dingers time.

His goals and assists are sublime. But when he goes a hunting and nicks the balls of players who don't see him coming it is a blast. Seems to get the ball in situations with the odds against him time and time again. Genius.

I've always been a Silva man, more for aesthetics as anything, but there's no denying that De Bruyne is truly a world star. He's actually in with a shout of being the best player in the world. The best. Mad.

Just drived the missus home from work

Had 606 on , supposed city fan saying we cheated fulham out of a point, and kev should have been booked for simulation.

Also said hes sick of citys players diving

Cant make this shit up
Did he also say hes msierabke cos we win so much and how little joy he gets out of haaland scoring cos its happens so often?

There's a poll around, made last year, asking BM who deserves to be capt of the team.

De Bruyne lost out to Dias, which shocked the fuck out of me.

At some point, I saw that posters thought De Bruyne 'didn't want to lead the team'. I thought that was years ago when there were more experienced leaders on the field.

Now, I voted KdB cos I have witnessed him drive the team on a huge amount of times and thought it was obvious capt material.

Nobody deserves the accolades better than this man in the last few years, but it looks like he'll never win the balon d'or if he can't win the capt vote on BM!

His desire and hunger is incredible, many times he has looked completely shot, almost broken, yet somehow he digs deep and produces incredible moments and drives this team on.

Saturday was a classic example of this desire and with a world cup in a matter of days time (probably KDM last major International Tournament) his performance in our shirt was sensational.

De Bruyne is in the captaincy group with Gundogan, Walker and Rodri apparently so clearly the players rate his is leadership.

Dias is a natural leader which is why he got the votes on BM, from the outside it sometimes looks like De Bruyne gets caught up in big moments and a bit emotional about them.

Sorry but Trautmann is no longer anywhere close to our “biggest ever name”.

De Bruyne, Agüero and possibly even Haaland all trump him by a country mile.
