I think you’ve hit the nail on the head - the engine room is not functioning even Rodders is struggling a bit - sacrilege I know but I fear KDB and Gundogan have hit “the wall” but we’ve been here before and we know how to sort it - I have faith we will forget about sentiment and do the right thing for the club - we moved on after Zabba, VK, Fern, Dave n Sergio and we will do the same again after Walker, KDB and Gundogan

At present we are a better team without KDB

He still has the magic in the boots with the ball at his feet and time but we are carrying him for large parts of games.....

Not sure if its to do with tactics or its age but his performances are well off...yes he can get 11 assists but his all around play is also contributing significantly to our drop in levels...

Where is he meant to be playing? Hes way too far forward. Pep has gone form having 6 in midfield to having 2.

His passing is so far off too. If we’re going to play a 2 in midfield and have 1 off haaland, then it really should be alvarez right now.

I said this in the Gundo thread but I think we have two players - KDB and Gundo - who aren't up to their best, and when Rodri doesn't have fresh legs beside him he struggles.

I still think both have something to give the team but playing both together is just not working.

KDB isn't playing beside him though. He is pretty much playing alongside Haaland.

I'd try him in a central 3 (with Rodri and Bernardo), like he used to play and see how he goes. Might be more effective playing a bit deeper and hitting balls through to Haaland from that position.

Another subdued game against the Goons , he wasnt given anytime to work his magic , would like to see him drop deeper and get on the ball more in games like today , he can split defences wide open with his passing.

Add that to gundo who has 0 pace and haaland who doesnt exactly press hard , then Kevs becoming an issue

Needs to play further back, cant believe we have the perfect player up front for him and Kev has decided to have a mare of a season by his standards. Gundogans legs have gone he’s a 20 minute close out sub for me, either get Bernie or Phillips in there to help Rodri and let KDB have a free role or drop KDB.

I've been one of his biggest critics this season but im now looking at Pep as the major contributor to our players underperforming. His stubbornness to persist with the current system is confusing.

There is not a single player who has improved from last season. We dont have the personnel to play 442, where is the justification for playing it over 433? We're literally scraping through games, all we do is pass it from one defender to another, theres 0 cutting edge and then Pep plays the exact same way the next game expecting improvement.

Yes id like us to move back to 433. Have kev back in the 8 slot with gundo or bernardo in the other 8.

Its doing kev no favours either cos he cant get on the ball.

Alvarez is much more suited to that role/position. Would like to see him there with kdb deeper, his passing from deep could transform our attack, especially against the better teams who don't Just park the bus.

We are tangibly worse with him playing this poorly. I don't know what is wrong with him, but I hope he gets it together soon. Our doldrums recently coincide with him playing poorly.

Unless he can get in any sort of decent physical condition there may sadly be a very difficult decision to be made in the summer.
