What’s the date?June 3.
January 13 was only what 5 months ago and dodgy, crippled Kev made the pass of the season to assist us in acquiring 3 vital points on Tyneside.
Kev could stand still on a spot the size of a fifty p piece and still be the boss.
Off day at Wembley he has two good seasons still in him.

One injury prone season and folk want rid.We have had the best out of him
John Stones another.
Like I don't agree that Kev is past it (he's not at his prime but he's not shot) nor do I think we should move him on, but let's not act like both he and Stones have had their fair share of injuries over the last 10 years

Injuries take years off a players career, especially if they pick up significant injuries into their 30's

You really have to wonder if some of our players need to question their priorities. International football may bring prestige but Club football funds their lifestyle. After another long season what our players need is some downtime, not to be playing a load more games.
Even more so for a player at 33 and one who has rarely produced for his country.

Maybe it's not the players but the football authorities whose commitment we should question. They add more and more stupid tournaments and competitions and the players are getting overloaded and drained making them injury prone.
All for the big bods out there to get more money in their coffers. It's time someone sat down and sorted it all out. JMHO

... Kev could stand still on a spot the size of a fifty p piece and still be the boss ...
Did you mix him up with Toni Kroos? ;)

Problem is, Kev CANNOT stand still. Running always has been a major part of his game, esp. on the break or pressing. He never did learn to manage his legs to an optimum efficiency. Always giving 100%. He came back from a severe injury in January and was running like a madman. It's in his genes, or his attitude.

That's exactly what's making it so difficult to find the right moment to say good-bye. The sad day will come. 33 end of June.

Maybe it takes a year for his family to prepare the move to California when his contract is over next summer. Hope he has a last cracking year here with lots of those moments only he can do.

Added to the comments last week about his advisors being in Saudi speaking to clubs I get the feeling we are going to have a decision to make sooner than we think, everyone is aware the off season is shorter due to the Euros so there will be plenty of chat being done by agents ready to light the touch paper at the end of the tournament.

Looks like he could be off soon then. If we can get a decent fee this summer it might be for the best all round. Incredible player but time waits for no man.
