17 | Kevin De Bruyne - 2024/25

Kev played when he shouldn’t have with his hamstring and it almost ended his top flight career, requiring a big surgery and 5 months out. He clearly feels he needs more time with this injury and is protecting himself. Good man! I did the same myself with a broken foot I played through by having 4 injections between the toes on that foot before every game…until I called time on that shit!

KDB is in the twilight of his career and has one last big deal in him…and it’s not going to be at City! He knows it, Pep knows it, Txiki knows it!

Kev has given his all, and more, for this club and his country. He’s broken his face, played through injuries, and been sidelined by bad injuries. He’s also been knobbled, got back up and won games on his own (the Spurs, David Silva “21” game springs to mind) and so no-one can fault his fight for the cause. However, enough is enough and he needs time to heal. I, for one, will give him all the time he needs and thank him for his extraordinary service when he goes next season.

Get well soon, Kev! We’d love you back when you’re ready.
Eh?

You can’t pay a player and have him decide if and when he wants to return. Especially one that has yet to commit his future.

The need time to heal is very convenient with the amount of games players are moaning about.

No wonder the players looked not bothered.

No player and no manager is above the best interests of the club. Any player that takes this view should be moved on.

They get paid very well to play football for city.

Little reminder, Pep said 'pubis bone'. Irritation in that area takes a long time and needs rest, not much more you can do.

Come back too early and the same story starts again. The time til it's 100% healed is impossible to predict, different to a muscular issue like a hamstring.

Leroy had it in April this year, in July they decided to make a groin surgery and NOW he isn't back to play 90 minutes. Ok different case, but I'm prepared to see a hopefully fit Kev not before next year.

With problem in the pubis bone you can't run with intensity, can't shoot with intensity and change running direction kills you. Exactly what Kev is doing best.

Hope I'm wrong but the sad truth seems to be: patience.

I woke up with one this morning and other than a slight limp for a few minutes, I'm fine.

And, over the course of a 20 year professional career at the very pinnacle of the game, they earn the right to know their own body and tell the team when they’re fit.

If the physics say he’s fit and he says he isn’t, who is winning that battle? He’s not a spring chicken, he’s a proven winner, and he says he’s not ready. Therefore, he’s not ready.

One can decide for themselves whether he’s fucking with the club, or he needs a little more time.

And, lest it go unsaid, Pep has been playing him at second striker, which should be Foden’s or Bernie’s position, and been flogging him senseless. Everyone knows his position is pulling strings and finding passes in midfield. Not sure why Pep is flogging him to death for little payoff?!

You can’t start favouring players and bowing to their demands or we become a shambolic mess.

If the doc said Kev is fit then he should be making himself available. He has had plenty of time off over the last 12 months.

If he has one eye on his future and doesn’t want to risk it then he needs to be let go this summer. If his best interests and the clubs don’t align then their is only one side I am taking and that’s the clubs.

Nothing to do with being number one fan , if you dont care to get to know players after years of them being here that is up to you , engage brain before believing twatter

Your posts have been fucking stupid these last couple of days, calm ths fuck down

I think you should calm down. This is what he wrote:

If it’s true and it’s a big if thens he’s done with us and this is the end .

It's not something you need to get hysterical about.

If he wasn't ready to play it was a poor decision to put him on the bench. That's not debatable.

It’s simply not how it works, but we can all have opinions.
