He is finished, gutted to say it, but he is done
Your negativity tonight has been very interesting. Defo a scouser.Hard to watch.
Sad but true.Been saying it and few want to admit it....He is done....he is adding nothing....
Anything else is just nostalgia for a once great player...he needs to finish at the end of this season....he cant run anymore, cant receive the ball in tight spaces and turn...he is consistantly losing possession. Capable of one off moments but he is more of a hinderance now
The really sad thing for me is that he's fit to play but looks nowhere near match fit. Dare I say he's carrying more than a bit of timber and needs to get properly fit and lose weight.Been saying it and few want to admit it....He is done....he is adding nothing....

That won't happen. Better hope Foden can get back to last year's form and health. Get 2 CMs and hope Bibb comes back looking like preseason.Only way we finish top 4 at this rate is if we get a last dance out of him
I agree, but I think there is still enough magic in those boots to find a starting role for KdB. He simply can't start in midfield with Gundogan though, similiarily to when Otamendi and Stones needed to be separated in 19/20. Just doesn't work anymore, age has morphed them into players that isn't compatible with success in midfield. I also agree that Bernardo offers nothing in thah dynamic now. That won't happen. Expect nothing but good cameos from our aging stars.
Kevin, Gundo and Bernardo should be coming off the bench to finish games. And never more than one of them should start in any game
The magic is with the youth not the aged.
No use unless he gets himself match fit, which he clearly isn't.I agree, but I think there is still enough magic in those boots to find a starting role for KdB. Best case scenario we move Gundogan on in january, phase out Bernardo but let Kev provide a spark offensively while we provide him with energy around him. Because we won't replace what he can give us with another player midseason

I don't think it's very difficult and the club can't have any loyalty this summer. We need to replace several players and Kevs wages help pay for it sadly. We have some tough decisions to be made, without being too sentimental. Interesting times.
Didn't look very happy himself at coming off either, so clearly thought he had more in the tank.He is coming back from big injuries , he can still have magic moments , shame on some of you ,he is a hero that needs managing better. To ok him off and we folded
I don't know, personally, I've whined about this for years. Even at our peak, we always held on a year or 2 too long on aging stars. It hurts so much to see him being helpless when he gets the ball at the right side line and - being pressed instantly - can only find the ball back to Walker.
In his golden era he had the power to immediately rush past the opponent and had miles of open space before him to go for himself or find the perfect pass to the forward.
Kev now doesn't have that pace nor power to go by and - never been accurate in small pockets under pressure - has to pass back to defence, without any outcome.
Same with Gundo. All opponents are aware about that and press us with easy success.
If Kev and Gundo still play we need more movement of players who make themselves available or we will be under pressure permanently.
The big topic is the timing of overhaul after incredibly successful years, it's a natural problem.
Injuries of Rodri and all defenders have drastically accelerated that process.

Past his prime? That slide against Salah, the goal winner against Leicester? Vinny was in top shape, he was never a liabilityI don't know, personally, I've whined about this for years. Even at our peak, we always held on a year or 2 too long on aging stars.
Sadly, the only 3 we were perfect on were Gundo and Mahrez. They left on time. Even though so many moaned last season about them being gone, I was happy. But then we fucker up the Gundo exit.
Yaya 2 years past it. David 1 year past it. Fernandihno and Kompany 3 years past their prime. Frankly, Sterling wanting to leave saved us on that front. We just can't help ourselves. We hold on too long.
It's now clear, Gundo is 2 years past his prime, so is Kyle ( who should have been allowed to leave for Bayern in the Gundo/Mahrez exit)..
Bernardo and Kevin are a year past their prime.
People complain about recruiting, but even when we don't get the right player or the best fit ( i.e. Nunes9 it is still far better to have that youthful energy over a slowing aging great.
Most of Liverpool's pickups are not great either. But they are young!!! Get good typing players. Some will for and others won't as well. But being young is an elixir in of itself.
