I had him down for the bench in the pre match thread, it wasn't a popular opinion there but tonight was exactly why i ssid it, we were never going to control that game, we needed as much energy and pace as we could field to start with and his introduction off the bench for the last 20 minutes could have seen him have a telling contribution. As it was he knackered himself out chasing the ball not particularly well, got few opportunities to be effective before needing to be replaced. Complete misuse of him tonight. He isn't that player anymore, he can still have a devastating impact but we need to be in control or it needs to be in short bursts.

His body language was horrific. Constantly berating anyone and everyone.
That's nothing new, kdb has done that his entire career. Never been able to avoid being visibly frustrated

That's what he does when his own game goes to rat shit. It's a bad look IMO. Does it a lot this season as he and us as as a team aren't playing well.

It's easy to point and blame when your own game is poor. He's another player that's form has fell off a cliff with age and injuries.

People jumping on Kev. Kev is not able — can no longer — play two games a week. It is absolutely as simple as that. He can make a considerable contribution, if he is dealt with as someone who can play once a week, and maybe a ten minute cameo at most in a midweek game. He was brilliant against Ipswich. All over the pitch, bursting runs. He simply doesn't have the gas in the tank for more. That's the deal. If that's not good enough (and there is an argument to be made that it isn't good enough at our level, I accept that), then so be it. He'll be on his way, and I shall salute him as one of the greatest players I've seen. But his great days are long gone.
He didn’t. He played 120 mins in 2 games.

People slating Kev need to have the same energy for Phil who was just as bad or worse imo.

Ask yourself would you rather a 34 year old Kdb as our creator next season or Foden?
I'd pick KDB everytime. I watched Wirtz on Tuesday and he can't do half of what Kev can do creatively and he's probably the most like for life replacement excluding Pedri who we'll never get.

He is being overplayed because of injuries and the fact that nobody else in our team can create like him. And I see him closing down and driving from midfield still at 33.
If kev doesn't play we are a worse team. People saying kev should be sold in the summer, Name three players who could replace him??

Kevs always had terrible games throughout his career. Sometimes you wondered where the fuck did that shit performance came from. So I wouldn’t take anything away from that game last night regarding Kev. We’re currently better off with him than without him, he’s still a creative machine. Doesn’t help that he’s got two players behind him that can’t press or haven’t got the legs to run back after losing the ball.

I’d love him to still be around next season, and us managing his game time then should be easier with some fresh legs around him. My fear is he will have his head turned by a big overseas 2 or 3 year contract so it might not be….but Manchester is now home to KDB and his family…..who knows.

I don't think we can play him in the current team. Its obvious we don't have the legs behind him and due to his age he is not as dynamic as he was. He is being exposed by the team's deficiencies and its like we are playing with 10.5 players. We need someone who can play where he is, who can press and track back more. Love Kev but thats my opinion at the moment (what do I know yeah?!)

Why can’t he take a fucking corner? I understand why he can’t run as much but he should still have the technique to kill a static ball surely.

He's finished unfortunately, even when he's had his good moments this season, you can see quite clearly he can't run or turn with any fluidity anymore. Play's like he's wearing jeans. Adore the man but it's time to go at the end of the season. Last chance for him to secure a big payday in Saudi before they realise he's finished.

Disagree, he has a place in our squad and a very valuable one. The issue is expecting him to play every 3 days and esp against a top team like PSG that have not only quality in the middle but also youth and energy. We might have got away with it with Rodri and someone else with legs beside him but he was set up to fail last night. We had little alternative though. We should be using him a little like Madrid use Modric last year, either comes on towards end of games when players are tired or he plays when fresh and hes surrounded by legs who can press and run.
