18/19 home and away kits ?

they're historic, I wouldn't say we have a tradition of wearing them seeing as we have barely done so in the last 50 years. Maroon symbolises our most successful periods with the late 60s/early 70s and then our revival in 2010/11, and the greatest start to a season ever this season. It just goes well together with us, and I would point out there's no white trim on that mock-up either ;), reading the actual descriptions doesn't seem promising though.
They're still traditional. I take it that since there's no white on the colour kit that the shirt will definitely have white trim then?

As I said, I've read the corresponding description and it suggests sky blue with navy, that's all I'm going off. It's a historic kit and as a one-off I'm sure it'll be popular, I hope we then settle down with some consistent branding that strengthens our image and reflects our successful periods whilst looking smart. The constant changing does nothing for us personally. Tis all.

This is the Nike shirt template for the World Cup and next season.

Guessing ours will be blue (obvs), the collar bit will be navy, with navy Nike and Etihad logos as well.

We have a great tradition of wearing navy socks, seen as it’s the colour we’ve worn most often in our history. Isn’t that what tradition is? The same thing done over many years?

There was also the 17 years we wore them in the 80s, 90s and 00s, which kind of flies in the face of “hardly ever in the last 50 years”, it’s actually getting on for half.

Personally I’m delighted to be wearing our traditional colours and it’s great that is shows the club and Nike have finally started listening to the fans on this. Long may it continue!

It will be a tradition when it's passed down next season, as this new generation has never seen us wear them. I think we should stick with what looks smarter and is associated with the more successful periods, so back to maroon for me. Navy socks are historic, but they've always looked silly.

Navy socks look terrific. Closely associated with our 86 FA youth cup winning side and the crop of players that graduated to the first team. Hopefully a good omen for the likes of Foden, Diaz, Tosin and Maffeo for next season.

Also it’s a completely unique combination to City. There’s a real chance we could be the best football team in the world next season for the first time ever. Be great to be wearing uniquely identifiable City colours for that.

youth cup, blimey lol.

I think the majority of our international fanbase would think "well we looked really cool last season and broke records, now we're wearing navy socks. Why have they changed again?", it's not clean, consistent branding, and navy socks look naff compared to sky blue and maroon.

Guessing you’re a new fan? Totally understand how “brand consistency” is more important than the traditions of the football club to a recently adopted fan. Also totally understand how winning major trophies is the major attraction for a lot of the new generation.

But those of us of a certain vintage who grew up watching City from being kids, who went through the hard times, we remember that 86 youth cup winning team with great fondness. Seeing local lads like White, Hinchcliffe, Redmond, Brightwell, Moulden and Lake make up the core of the first team gave us a great deal of pride.

Fantastic for us to have that tradition respected. But I totally understand how the likes of you wouldn’t give too much of a toss about that.

I just don't think it looks good, I've always preferred sky blue and maroon. Considering we want to be a global brand and major player, fucking about with our core branding every year is just silly, it's like changing the badge every year. This year's home kit was near-enough perfect, if we want to have a nostalgic one-off look back at when we used to dress oddly then that's fine, but I hope we go back to a historic kit which reflects our best periods and looks smarter too.

As a 90s blue I sat through the shit, without any glory to keep me going. That included a variety of fairly shit kits, laser blue and navy blue socks being a core part of it. Looked silly then and will look silly now.
