18/19 home and away kits ?

Would love to see a version of the Dark Blue away kit we wore in the 70s with the diagonal Red and White stripe,it was an awesome kit
Me too , could have both of them ie the blue with red, white sash, and the white with blue, red sash . We've got loads of classic kits in our history , about time some kit makers took a look at them .

They're spot on. I'd buy the away tomorrow. You or GeekinGav need to modernise the red and black squares.

under armour gets lost a bit but oh well, here you go

If we don't go Adidas, actually wouldn't mind under armour. Imo, they have done a nice job with Spurs kits over the years, and are usually original designs. Nike seem a bit assembly line and aren't in tune with what the fans really want. Material has also been poor, except the kit with the white button collar that one was decent even though was template.

Dear Nikeompoops/whomever is in charge of this stuff,

Here are the bottom line home kit rebrief notes that you really must take notice of to avoid further massively limiting the kit's earnings potential and the fans' enjoyment of what it means to see City play and love our team:
  • No blue/same colour shorts, as = softie pyjamas/cheap, uninspired market mash-up. Shorts should be white, can have sky blue trim.
  • White trim on home kit shirt please.
  • Remove all thoughts of, hints at or clever 'it's not really it just looks that way' attempts to introduce navy blue or black.
  • No stupid shoulder yokes/caps etc..
  • Socks - must be some sky-blue/white combo. (White looks classier as the main, hoops works well.)
Yours with the utmost sincerity on a scale that you cannot possibly imagine

Practically every City fan out here.

Spot on . and more of sky blue and white , less of Navy please on the shirts . I loved the season where we had shirt number in white on the players back .

Some of this is spot on mate, but some of it definitely doesn't represent "practically every City fan out there".

I did a survey of 1000 City fans, it's posted on an earlier kit thread. The findings were:

98% wanted white shorts, so you're right on that one.

White trim was most popular, but plenty like navy trim as well. Black trim wasn't included in the survey, but it's not a traditional City colour, so I doubt it's very popular.

The shoulder yokes this year were extremely unpopular.

Actually, the most popular sock combination by far on the survey was sky blue with maroon turnovers. Followed by sky blue with white turnovers, followed by all navy blue, followed by blue and white hoops, followed by all white, which only had around 10% of the vote.

Although you think white socks look classier, the majority of City fans surveyed thought they looked like Lazio's kit and not City's. Blue socks are overwhelmingly more popular among City fans for City kits than all white.

It's also worth noting that Nike haven't tried to "introduce" navy to a City kit. It was introduced over 100 years ago and has made up a part of our kit for over 90 years, and 80 of them they were our primary sock colour. Navy blue is a traditional City colour, no matter how uneasy that sits with some people ;-)

it's not the preferred colour and its resurgence under Soriano City suggests it's the management or Nike at work. Certainly they've taken the use of navy to a whole different level to anything we've seen in the past. Navy was a third trim colour and the historic (but not now preferred) sock colour. Now it's our shirt sleeve colour, it's also completely replaced white (the mandatory trim colour) on the kit at times, that's why people have actually turned off having any navy at all on the kit because it's been so misused.

I'm not a fan of Nike, but if you look back through our kit history you'll see that Umbro in the late 80's/early 90's that were the first to use navy blue as a main trim colour on the shirt, le Coq had navy blue trim on the shirts as did Kappa... and out of the 5 Nike kits (including next seasons) only 2 of them have had navy trim on the shirt.

I'm a kit traditionalist and personally think our shirts should always be sky blue with white trim and white shorts... end of... set in stone etc. etc., sock colour is more debateable... my personal favourite is sky blue with maroon turnover, or sky blue and white turnover – but I wouldn't mind white, hooped or navy... I'd prefer they settled on a colour and stuck with it though!
As for sky blue shorts – though i'd prefer white, the rule should be that if we have an all sky blue kit then the trim absolutely has to be white... the Nike all sky blue kit from the 2014/15 season, with navy trim, was absolute shite... not as shite as this season's atrocity though!

2013/14 had navy trim, 2014/15 had navy in the place of white, 2016/17 had navy sleeves and trim ffs. Only 2015/16 was purely white with the correct shorts and socks. 1/4 is dreadful considering our rivals get their colours every single year.

2013/14 had a tiny pinstripe of navy on a white collar, so tiny that from the stands you couldn't even see it! – trying to say that's navy trim is just being pedantic... I have no problem with a tiny bit of navy in the trim if the predominant colour is white – it's navy as the main trim that I don't like!
