1894 group

Only a suggestion but maybe if people were shown ideas that funds might be spent on, how much these projects cost etc, it may encourage fellow blues to donate?

If say buying a new flag costs £Xxx we could be shown the flag (jpg), and the cost, so members on here can have an understanding of how much to donate and what they are actually donating to.

Our branch (north bury) have agreed to commit funds to the 1894 group project. Just makes my job harder right now going to the branch treasurer and asking him to throw members money into something unknown.

yes that's a point raised before by a couple of branches and i am aware of it and it's a fair point. suppose it depends on what we get through in donations.

at the minute - no-one has suggested anything new ! so at the moment all we would be buying more of the blue/maroon/blue stick flags. but tell you what, 8 hours on a coach to and from wembley is a long time so i'll try and canvass some opinion and come back to you early next week. meantime anyone with ideas keep 'em coming

Manchester City centre branch , North Bury branch and Northenden have all pledged money to a flag day v Norwich last game of the season. Any more for any more ?

just an idea, it may have been thought about before for the fund raising.

one of the first things players say after a game is how fantastic support is or how loud the singing was, roberto himself loves his name chanted.

has anybody got a back door in to speaking to players contacts or roberto for them to donate signed pictures, shirts or attend meetings, donate themself. Im sure one or two players out there would love to know about this and back it up with a signed football or shirt which we could then auction to raise money.

you only need to look at dortmund players at madrid coming back on to the pitch to celebrate way after the game with fans, they love it ! Im sure zabba, vinny, kun , yaya would love the same.

have we tried but got knocked back ?

does anybody have a back door into contact with players ?

getting the players to attend supporters meetings these days, as anyone from any of the branches will tell you, is hard work, not completely impossible but hard work.

given that a number of branches are now involved in this and it has the potential to expand even more there may be an opportunity to put ideas to the club which wouldn't get knocked back as much because it won't be seen as favouritism towards one particular branch.

for example, a fans meeting organised through bluemoon, similar to the one we had when danny Wilson and carlos tevez attended might be used to raise money and maybe they could give us something to auction. we could certainly put that to the club. that's one thing we would like to do. people ask why we're low profile on here, reason is we'd rather under promise and over deliver, --we'll be discussing the Norwich game with the club shortly & will also ask , given the fact more branches are involved before now that the club will plug "1894" and what we're doing through social media ie mcfc twitter. we can't and won't put a gun to their heads but we will see what is on the table soon enough

If you guys can organise an event I can help out, I have a city memorabilia website and would be willing to donate something and help to raise funds.

thanks for the update, we seem to be getting together now and conecting, the future is bright, sky fkn blue !

a shirt auction or similar memorabilia would be good, i will see if i can get an in, workong on it.

a thought on what i have seen before and link with the 1894... "Scarfs" . Does anybody know where we could get say 100 scarfs made ( just an example amount ). If we got 100 decent quality scarfs made in blue and white with "1894" written in black on them. Charged £15 per scarf which i would gladly pay or £20, profit goes to the collection plus we all have an identity and can see who is who at the stadium on match days to get familiar.. Would also look good when held up for bluemoon singing...

-- Fri May 03, 2013 2:55 pm --
