Once or twice we heard part of the Zaba song and the Vinnie one but without the West Ham fans it would have been dire. The Poznan was good, but had to be started by the WH supporters!
Also one person near me said they were glad they weren't anywhere near the people waving the flags because they would be restricting the view of the people behind. I know if that huge flag had been restricting my view I would have had something to say, I want to cheer the PLAYERS & be able to see them when they score, not a flag. Sorry but that is how I felt about it.
Such a negative post! From 117 you couldn't hear the West ham fans, at all. And it's a good job their is over 50 other blocks you can choose to sit in so your view will never have to be restricted. You seem like the type of person that tries to ruin other peoples fun.
I thought the flags were great, they create something visual which engages people from other areas of the stadium, or even people watching on the tele.
No it wasn't a negative post. It was a post giving an opinion. An opinion based on being there on the night, on the front row, in the rain and enjoying every second of a brilliant game. I could barely hear our fans but could hear the West Ham fans loud and clear. As we were saying on the coach coming home from the game that is something that happens at home matches; when we are away we are the loudest fans. As for being someone who tries to ruin other people's fun as you have never met me I don't think you can really comment on that. Ask our own de niro about my sense of fun and my cheerful nature. Sorry if I didn't fall into the 'oh, everything is wonderful because we had a load of flags out' brigade!! My comment about the flags was because it would have been impossible to celebrate by seeing our players if a huge flag had been in my face.
As for engaging people on the television I am sorry but I've paid my money to go to the stadium and watch the football not to cater for the armchair supporter. (No disrespect to those who can't make the matches for various reasons).
As I say, I apologise if I have an opinion, but that's me. Opinionated of Eccles!! :-)
