All we could hear were the West Ham fans! Where were all the people from the South Stand it was half empty? Once or twice we heard part of the Zaba song and the Vinnie one but without the West Ham fans it would have been dire. The Poznan was good, but had to be started by the WH supporters!

Also one person near me said they were glad they weren't anywhere near the people waving the flags because they would be restricting the view of the people behind. I know if that huge flag had been restricting my view I would have had something to say, I want to cheer the PLAYERS & be able to see them when they score, not a flag. Sorry but that is how I felt about it.

Such a negative post! From 117 you couldn't hear the West ham fans, at all. And it's a good job their is over 50 other blocks you can choose to sit in so your view will never have to be restricted. You seem like the type of person that tries to ruin other peoples fun.

I thought the flags were great, they create something visual which engages people from other areas of the stadium, or even people watching on the tele.

No it wasn't a negative post. It was a post giving an opinion. An opinion based on being there on the night, on the front row, in the rain and enjoying every second of a brilliant game. I could barely hear our fans but could hear the West Ham fans loud and clear. As we were saying on the coach coming home from the game that is something that happens at home matches; when we are away we are the loudest fans. As for being someone who tries to ruin other people's fun as you have never met me I don't think you can really comment on that. Ask our own de niro about my sense of fun and my cheerful nature. Sorry if I didn't fall into the 'oh, everything is wonderful because we had a load of flags out' brigade!! My comment about the flags was because it would have been impossible to celebrate by seeing our players if a huge flag had been in my face.

As for engaging people on the television I am sorry but I've paid my money to go to the stadium and watch the football not to cater for the armchair supporter. (No disrespect to those who can't make the matches for various reasons).

As I say, I apologise if I have an opinion, but that's me. Opinionated of Eccles!! :-)

I did the first half in aisle between 118 and 119. Who was the lad in the blue shirt about for rows from the back. He was loving it.

Was a case of join in or get out, so all the songs gathered pace. It's a good idea.

Moved to my usual seat for the first half, and as is being mentioned on the other thread, West Ham fans were superb. I think we just ran out of songs!

I watched on TV due to not having time to attend after work. The hammers were louder but you could hear City from time to time as well, it also looked pretty full as East and North level one were more full than the rest of the ground.

In relation to our home atmosphere, the Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool games were sublime I thought.

Everyone has a different story to tell. A very different story.

As somebody who has a season ticket in block 111, and has now also been in block 117( last night), I feel I can give a different perspective on the on-going debate.

I'll post my thoughts later on. :-)

Always baffles me why people are so keen to see players celebrate with each other . Strange .

Fook the moanin bastards and keep it up with the flags. More the better. Like ya say, some people just like a moan .

I relocated into the singing block last night.
1894 Group was allocated a block of 50, apparently 38 seats were taken up.

Considering the amount of people in the area in comparison with how many WHU brought and the total attendance figure, I thought a good job was done in there.

It's a start, if you have an issue about the atmosphere - join in the singing section... If this can continue then who knows, there might be 100 singers at the next fixture, and it could eventually progress into 200, so on and so forth.

I had a lad waving his flag next to me for most of the match and never missed anything major.

great effort lads. The flags looked great especially the large one. Definitly need more in the block though, maybe 200.

It's a good job you've got 30 other blocks to chose from then mate, was in 117 myself last night, no issues with the flags at all, if we have a designated area in the future for singers/flags/banners etc then everyone who's in that area will know what to expect.

Thought 1894 did a great job last night, I think what would help is being AWAY from the away fans, maybe a block such as 140/142
