Ray, I mean this sincerely. I'm impressed by how you're able to spin anything into a positive. Can Pep and the club really be this infallible?
Put it this way it is pointless venting as there is no viable alternative in the current squad. We cannot rotate. At this stage we have to suck it up until all our fitness issues are sorted out.

I can't see how Pep doesn't give a younger lad with legs the chance to help this squad. These lads made the squad in the Summer to what effect? IMO Pep is having a mare of a season. What he's done in the past or whether he deserves more time to fix things are different matters.

He doesn't seem to really trust the back up in Gundo's postion to some degree whether it is an up and coming EDS player or the rest of the squad regardless of his current physical state.

I can half understand him not trusting Wright or O’Reilly to play as the 6. Don’t agree with it but can understand it.
But there’s no reason not to throw in one of the younger players in that more advanced position that Gundogan played yesterday.
However you rate McAtee, he couldn’t possibly have offered anything less.

Impossible for McAtee to have offered less than Gundo yesterday. Lest anyone forget O'Reilly is also an attacking player. Pep has come up with this idea that he can be a 6 only to never use him in either position...

Pep is doing so much damage to our academy with his attitude to our young players this season.

This team is desperate for legs, energy and enthusiasm, yet every week we see the same issues, tired, old, burnt out players.

Again the kids could easily add to the problem rather than solve it. He has already given Simpson-Pusey his debut and he looks way off being the ready for the first team.

I think Simpson Pusey was more out of necessity.
Of the younger players, he wouldn't have been near the top of the list.
I don't know enough about the young lads to know how good they are other than their cameo appearances for the first team.
I don't think one kid getting time will add to the problem but may not necessarily improve it either. What is essential is to get fast legs onto the pitch and to allow injured players time to recuperate fully.
I watched Athletico against Barcelona at the weekend and the non stop running and closing down by Alvarez, Gallagher and the rest of the Athletico team was remarkable.
Nothing fancy, just pure athleticism and determination.

Same with the rest of the kids. If Pep rated the current EDS kids they would have been given a chance. Phil Foden is the Benchmark

Now that Kovacic is fit, there is no good reason for Gundogan to be picked.
If he does continue to be picked, nothing is going to change
Kova was fit and started vs. Villa. Pep still started Gundo and Bernardo...IMO nothing is going to change.

Palmer didn't perform to any of his current standards at City. Can't ignore either.
You don’t see part of the role as spotting potential and nurturing it?

As I recall, Palmer was always one of the best in class. Pep must have seen that in EDS matches and in training. He didn’t excel in our first team largely because he wasn’t given much opportunity and was sold on because he didn’t bow and scrape. So he backed himself and as soon as somebody did the same (ie Chelsea) he truly flourished.

Even through your glow of hero worship you must see this. But zero chance of you admitting it.

Nurtring talent? Foden is the prime example of what could happen.

You know what’s gonna happen don’t you. He’ll drop both of them or one of them and we’ll win and then he’ll start them both the game after and we’ll get beat
And some will say it was the right thing to do regardless, lol...
