Out of topic but what's up with Julián's acne? He didn't have that in Argentina, and he was a teeneger here. XD
Didn’t have it when he signed for City either. Prob misses the cold weather. That heat couldn’t be good for it.

Hopefully it clears up soon for him.

Pep better start playing him more. He needs to be starting the big games for me. With the tweaks to our set up to accommodate the Viking, we need his work rate to help with the press.

Let's not get silly comparing him with Messi.

But I agree with your other point. He needs to be starting, either alongside Haaland in a front 2 or in a front 3 with Foden/Grealish and Haaland.
I think his biggest contribution could be playing instead of Haaland allowing the big guy to be rested occasionally so he is ready for the big games.
If Julian started say 30% of games as the main striker I think it would benefit both of them in what is likely to be a very busy second part of the season.

I imagine there is a future setup where we have Haaland up top, Alvarez right behind him like a 10/second striker, and with Grealish and Foden on either side of Alvarez.

Maybe KdB can be transitioned to a deeper role with him not getting any younger and probably having more difficulty pressing like mad up top that we want form our young dogs.

Similar to how France are set up?

I wouldn't mind Foden in that role just behind Haaland too and then you could have Alvarez and Grealish on the wings but they could all interchange throughout.

There are a lot of different set ups I think would work as with Foden, Haaland and Alvarez we have some of the best young players in the world in our frontline

I still think Grealish and Foden will end up in midfield, Alvarez will become a regular in this team, quality player and amazing energy.

Better than Messi .............well he was tonight , he ran Poland ragged and scored a superb goal on the world stage and yet he is a bench warmer at the Etihad !!!
Seriously this lad needs to be starting games in a blue shirt , he is ahead of Mahrez and Grealish and our first choice front three should be Alvarez , Haaland and Foden.
He is far more than a bench warmer and needs game time to get to his peak form , there is so much more to come from him , cannot believe how little we paid for him and i would bet his contract isnt anywhere near the likes of Mahrez & Grealish.
Renegotiate and extend his contract and tie him down because Barca & Real will be knocking on the door next season , he is the next Tevez/Aguero.

Missed penalty aside, Messi was far and away the best player on display last night.

I’d love to see how Alvarez fares as a second striker behind Haaland.

been mentiond many times he's just played a full season for river plate moved to new country onto big stage and a high pressing team from front to back and now at the world cup playing nearly all games
easing him in and when rested he;ll fly

Yeah, I feel sorry for him stuck on the bench, I hope he's not getting fed up
What, who is stuck on the bench?

He played in all 6 UCL games, therein 4 for 90 minutes! Full 90 minutes against Chelsea in Carabao Cup and featured in almost every PL City game, starting three of them.

Coming from a different culture to live in another country at a daily basis. He has been introduced into squad perfectly,. Thats because he had been introduced by top professionals in their area with Pep first and foremost.

Scaloni and other Argentinian experts praised his development at City many times.

He’s where he probably expected to be at this point of his career with us and I’m sure he’s more than happy to be getting the minutes he is so far. He will play plenty between now and the end of the season. The poster you’re replying to isn’t known for his positive outlook…

More central for me.

Bin Mahrez and put the lad out wide

A future 11 of younger players
Go 3511, some combo of 2 of Haaland/Alvarez/Foden up top.

Mid 3 with:

Grealish/Rodri/Phillips/kdb/bernie or bellingham

Wingbacks with:

Gomez/Borges left

Cancelo/Lewis/Mebude right

Any back 3(Walker as right CB).
