Seems to be so busy and always running even with the ball that sometimes his control seems a bit clumsy, but then he just runs more and gets the ball back anyway, which in a way is even better as the oppo's defence is not set then. :)

But how does he just keep on running?!

A faster version of Tevez. Incredible engine on him.

Looking forward to seeing just how good he's going to be alongside Haaland.

Shades of Ronaldo and Benzema at Real. If that happens, what a ride we are in for with this lad and the big fella.

Alvarez will be amazing, just like Benzema but will most likely live in Erlings shadow for obvious reasons.

Interesting that Pep, in all interviews about Haaland talks about him being humble, unlike you know who...I am sure it will stay that way.

Reminds me more of Tevez than Aguero but I can see bits of both. If he carries on performing like he did yesterday then he's going to have some career.

We should of course just let him be Julian Alvarez and not burden him with the next "......" tags but he does bring to mind both Tevez and Aguero and if he can combine the best of both players, he will be some player.

i get navas vibes from him, a player who will work his socks off every time he gets a chance and is happy to contribute in whatever way he can
except navas was awful in front of goal and one of the worst finishers we have had in the last decade (except for the odd worldie he scored like the one against spurs) and technically no where near as good as Alvarez

Yeah I agree but it's hard not to see some of the similarities. Whatever he becomes in the future, I'm just glad we've immediately replaced Gabby's tenacity up front.

great finishes, the second goal is a really hard one to score, and with his left foot, also sent one into the post in the first half.

Love his ability to navigate in tight spaces, it will be useful against stronger teams
This...in the big games esp in the prem league where teams like Chelsea, Rags, Scousers etc will pack their defences and work on the break (spurs being another) Haaland may find it a lot more difficult but Alvarez has that quality where he can get a goal out of nowhere.....think about the kun goal at the near post against the scousers a couple of seasons back...that type of goal wins you tight games. I think Alvarez has that in him MORE than Haaland does....Haaland will get more goals because of the role he plays in the team...BUT Alvarez could be a real game changer in those tight moments.
