You can see De Jong pulling his leg out, its unfortunate but at the end of the day it happens.

Good thing though, I bet players start to think twice about going near De Jong. :)

Again - looking at that picture - how the fuck did he get a double leg break from that???

Re: De Jong injury to Ben Arfa

Just been reading a Newcastle forum and a Spuds forum and these tools are saying that De Jong needs banning for life!

The honestly dont have a fucking clue. He never ever went out to hurt Ben Arfa. It was a game that we needed to win and we needed a good start and De Jong went out and set the tempo for it by making a fair clean challenge, it was the perfect challenge.

You ask any player in the world what there best tackle would be and they will all say: a fair clean sliding tackle that takes the ball and also takes out the man.

Re: De Jong injury to Ben Arfa

Has he been banned yet? The FA are slacking aren't they? Adebayor would have been banned by now.

Re: De Jong injury to Ben Arfa

Saw it live on TV and thought it was a good tackle, with De jong winning the ball, then i saw the replay straight away again I couldn't see anything.

It wasn't until i listened to Stan after the game that i even thought the tackle could have been bad. I've not sin the still image that he put up on his twitter page put it was supposed to show a two footed lunge into Ben arfas leg.

tbh if you take still images of a lot of tackles I bet they look at lot worse than they are. the de jong tackle was unfortunate in that his leg go caught!

Same here. A lot of people have fallen for the dogging wife beaters bullshit though I'm afraid

Re: De Jong injury to Ben Arfa

Well first off I feel bad for the lad thats a shocking injury. So best wishes to him.

But If you ban that you might as well just say no tackling at all. Its a tackle from the side, his feet are on the ground he wins the ball. The ref has a clear view of it - no foul. The replays show it was clean.

None of the Newcastle players had any problem with it at the time. Even their manager said there was no malice but it was "Uneccessary"

Since when was tackling not part of football then ?

MOTD, no case to answer. Havent seen a single press article or pundit saying it was a bad or deliberate tackle. With the exception of Stan "The wife beater" Collymore.

Newcastle fans are just muppets, they have Barton, Nolan and Smith playing for them 3 of the dirtiest players to ever grace the prem....

Re: De Jong injury to Ben Arfa

Fat tool from the Mirror Darren Lewis going on with himself about the ref "not seeing" the tackle, and hence De Jong could face a retrospective ban.
They're all lining up now.

Same old shit. Can't get them on the pitch anymore,so let's get them off it.

The Ref didn't see anything wrong with it, Houghton saw nothing wrong with it, and even Ben Arfa himself never made anything out of it... The Geordies will be pissed off at losing a player for the season, but it was an ACCIDENT... look at that still shot again... Nige's legs are on the deck, both of them... and what's all this trailing leg bollocks... where the fuck do they suggest his leg should be?
I've seen both Barton and Nolan do worse week in week out, and what the fuck has it got to do with Spuds???
