I hate saying this, as I loved Zaba, and Micah too, but I think he's our greatest ever RB isn't he? Just a machine.

I wouldn’t of said it 2 years back but to sustain the levels he has, he’s definitely in the debate... made for Peps system and rather than concentrate on his shortfalls (which we all tend to do), the reality is he’s just as integral to how we play, as the previous players we put on a pedestal - an absolute bargain and won’t be easily replaced! He is the greatest ever RB - who has has played in PL...
To @domalino point comparing him to a lock down ‘cornerback’ was spot on. He completely neutralizes one side of the pitch. To further that point he never gets injured and he’s showing no signs of decline and even getting better pushing forward. What’s more surprising is his apparent lifestyle outside the game to boot (: the epitome of what you want in a modern athlete, longevity is sustained with a little bit of luck and avoidance of recurring injuries, which he seems blessed with...To @domalino point comparing him to a lock down ‘cornerback’ was spot on. Working health care so that’s a grind. Very strange experience. Irony out the roof. Thankless job like our boy does :)What’s more surprising is his apparent lifestyle outside the game to boot (: the epitome of what you want in a modern athlete, longevity is sustained with a little bit of luck and avoidance of recurring injuries, which he seems blessed with...
Hope you’re keeping well pal, hopefully the trip over isn’t to far away and we can chew the fat over a pint or two!
I consider him to be as effective a defender as Ashley Cole was at his peak. Maybe not as intelligent but his physicality ensures that he's very rarely a cause for concern defensively. It's difficult to go further back in time just because fullbacks have changed so much.Where does he rank all time for English fullbacks?
I consider him to a freak of nature. He’s benched and forced Cancelo to become a left back and for me Joao is the second best right back in the world going forward. For all our fullback problems in the last 10 years he’s a calming influence and stamps out every counter attack with those through balls. Those through balls and over the top being a top strategy to gain xG for our opponents. He just completely negates that. He’s gotta be getting close to legend tier for me if not already there. To further those points he’s not declining and still getting better. Top signing.I consider him to be as effective a defender as Ashley Cole was at his peak. Reece James at Chelsea is an outstanding Full back.I consider him to be as effective a defender as Ashley Cole was at his peak.
