When asked to play simple passes within the system and defend in the 2nd half, he was great.

Playing in a pivot style role in Pep's system is beyond Walker's technical skills. Not his fault but it just doesn't work.
It's ridiculous, he's not a playmaker. Kev needed to be deeper in the first half, it was clear we just weren't creating anything through the middle.
 
Looked up his stats for the game and was surprised.

Passed completed: 108/115
Passed into final 1/3: 41/46
Total touches: 121

All were tops today
his passing was very good especially in the 2nd half

It’s the ones that went awry that did us today as they invariably led to a breakaway and one led up to a goal.

He should not be being used as a playmaker. It’s not his particular skill set.

Pep has a dream of having his fullback move to the middle and act as a playmaker. He did this to Philipp Lahm at Bayern Munich and now Walker was asked to do the same.
