Are you arguing with the initial line up? The players voted Walker in a vote in Sept. Once the extent of Kevs absence was known. Prior to that Kev was voted Club Captain. He’s just being polite in the quote you reference.

I wouldn’t worry too much about semantics. The players chose who they wanted as captain and we’ll see the order as and when players are rested and substituted.

It’s clear he was the Captain at the start of the season. The players.then voted in September for their Captains group. Obviously KDB wouldn’t be available until January. I have no problem with Walker being Captain, but to suggest he would be voted ahead of a fit KDB is unlikely and frankly absurd.

For the captaincy, a good team will sort that out on its own. Internally. If he starts to be standing in the way of team success, they'll tell him soon enough.

Pep didn't want to comment on player's private life and also said captaincy is a team decision, not his.

As for Walker - he makes my skin crawl. I literally can’t look at him on the pitch or bench with out feeling a bit sick. Absolutly appalling behaviour over many, many years.

He clearly didn’t say anything about all this to the club when they extended his contract. Sorry but you don’t get paid that amount in a very public role without doing that.

You are being very naive if you think the club and the other players don't know what he has been doing.

In the past several seasons he has publicly been outed for having sex parties during COVID and Flashing women in a pub. But he was clever enough to keep an affair hidden? Highly unlikely.

If I was a team member I knew I had no right nor interest to judge about a team mate's sex life or partnership. I knew I was not responsible for his private behaviour and as long as he can separate private life from the job - it's his cup of tea.

Also, should we involve political topics? Who voted for Brexit, what about Israel/Gaza or Ukraine support? We better focus on football, or the media will have a fuckin party.

To be clear, I don't defend Walker at all, I mostly feel for the kids involved. It's a nightmare for them and will have some impact on their development.

I also don't need Walker as a captain as we have several better alternatives. No idea how he got there for starters. That alone tells you that the squad DOES separate private life from the job.

If I was a team member I knew I had no right nor interest to judge about a team mate's sex life or partnership. I knew I was not responsible for his private behaviour and as long as he can separate private life from the job - it's his cup of tea.

It is not a private life if a 1) breaking the law as in the case of prostitutes, CV lockdown, exposing himself in public.

Its pretty lame to ignore it or say it has no influence. I could lose my professional registration for the same. And I would definitely not be put in a leadership role by peers.

As always, fans literally excuse anything “so long as they perform on the pitch”. Its pretty pathetic. I don’t think a lot of (mostly male) fans realise how offensive it is. Thats the best we can do as a Captain? Like I said he makes my skin crawl and it looks awful on the club.
