2 | Kyle Walker - 2024/25

I have been saying it for a year now, and people thought I was just hating on him for his off the pitch behaviour. He has been done for a long time now. Cost us countless games last season, so it's no wonder he is not looking any better this season.

Problem we have is that like defensive mid , left back , striker , we have no cover for him so he plays I mean when you look at it we are in a really bad rebuild position as we have no cover for these positions .

We do have a cover for him, and we won a treble like that. Manu Akanji or John Stones at RB until we buy a new RB.

Clearly struggling. Lost his pace and it's like losing his 'superpower'.

My issue is the captaincy.
Leaders are people who set an example. He doesn't shirk, he doesn't hide, but I would want my captain to be someone I looked up to.

His 'off the antics' raise questions about his personality and his loyalty.

Irrelevant what you want as a captain. He's won the vote two years in a row. The people who spend every day with him, not us.

Sadly the regular injuries/ fitness issues to our central defenders is having a big impact imo. Probably the result of ageing plus the numbers of games they are being asked to play in.

And I find it hard to read some of the comments used to refer to/describe the players in question, because as professional players they will be frustrated and hating the fact that they are beset with these injuries and therefore unable to contribute in a difficult period.

Gvardiol is being sacrificed as a central defender due to the absence of a genuine LB, and Stones, Ake, Dias and Walker are struggling to be fit and able to perform to their true levels.

It appears that some tough decisions need to be made with a need for younger replacements in future transfer windows.

Has been integral to our success on the pitch and that should and will always be remembered.

He’s now being asked to do a job his body isn’t capable of doing.

He’s had loads going on at home, all his fault of course, and it has clearly affected him.

A bloke that, in his 30’s, still thinks it’s funny to swing his cock around in a pub should not be captain of this football club. He’s not a leader.

He can still do a job for us if we adapt the way we play but if our tactics don’t change, he’s going to be chasing shadows in some games for the rest of his time here.
