Some City fans will be proud of their contribution I guess.
Don’t believe the media bullshit. The online abuse is from rival fans. Kyle has been fantastic for City but has just reached a point in his career with his age. He has shown guts to make the decision for himself. City fans will always respect what he did for us and wish him well.

Not for me. Sorry mate.
Light years ahead of any other right back in my life time. Zabba was great, a proper defender. It was no coincidence we completely evolved as a club when getting Walker in. Widely regarded as the best right back in the prem era, which easily makes him ours. He goes with my blessing and thanks, yes off the field he isn't a role model and I certainly never wanted him near the captaincy but he has been a great servant.

And lets be clear here, he recognised what was going on with him and asked to leave last summer. He stayed here because Pep asked him to when he could have walked. He did us a favour, not the other way around.
He asked to leave to get a bumper contract in Saudi or Bayern, but we gave him a 3 year bumper one because Pep was worried at the possibility of loosing three mainstays from the squad at the sometime He didn't do us any favors it was a major mistake by the club as his decline was evident throughout the previous season Averaging 2 goals conceded with him playing compared to 0.6 without

So he leaves the Premier League due to racism and goes to…. Serie A?

Another blatantly ludicrous article.
Age has caught up with him. It was clear towards the end of last season. Made a tit out of himself in the derby, now he wants to flounce off and blame it on everyone else.

If he was 4 years younger, he would be deaf to any criticisms coming his way.

I meant there’s no way someone sending a racist message on Twitter has had any influence on his decision to leave City

Time to go tbh, had his chips, done us well but realistically it’s the right decision to leave he was only getting worse. Great captain and his performances against Madrid will never be forgotten.

Haven't really enjoyed his stint as captain tbh, don't think it should ever really have been given to him for numerous reasons, peps system of letting the players vote is shit lol, they just vote for the next senior player after Kev says no. That means Bernardo will probably get it next time even though he's a terrible choice.

I feel like Walker's been finished for about 18 months, maybe a bit longer but he was top for a lot of years and I think once he's gone and the bitter end is over people will remember that part, not how it ended.

His form has dropped off to such an extent that what would have seemed a big loss at the end of last season, is now seen of no major significance should he leave this month.

He would have hoped for a better send off, and to have left in better circumstances, but most of his problems are ultimately self-inflicted, so it’s difficult to be too sympathetic to him.

Was a very good player for us though, particularly in his early years, and he made a big contribution to everything that’s been achieved under Guardiola. Hopefully the move abroad will help him sort himself out a bit.

There are no problems with Pep and Walker.

Walker asked to leave because HE feels that he hasn't been up to par this season and if he stays, he'll do more harm than good to both City and himself. Recognising that you've lost your legs and are causing harm to the team is EXACTLY why he was made captain by the people who actually know him personally rather than watch him on the telly and have no idea what type of person that he is.
How do you know how he feels?

Exactly this , he's supposed to be our leader but is nowhere to be seen post match when we lose and is now jumping ship as times have got a little tough, fucking coward.
He’s doing us the biggest favour in not doing a Danny Mills and taking his salary for the next 18 months.

The guy knows he’s done and his ego has been smashed.

Time will allow this season’s Kyle to be forgotten. However, his role in 17 trophies will not.

i've been quite critical of him over the last couple of seasons as he has been a major cause of our issues but I have to say he was previously a major part of our success too, up there with the best.

Like a few on here I didn't think it was the best signing back in 2017 but his performance level far exceeded what I was expecting, seeing that burst of speed to get us out of trouble, the way he handled some of the best wingers in football with apparent ease.

I think his performances recently actually look worse as he was on such a high level and any drop off is more obvious, the loss of a couple of yards of pace means he cannot play his natural game.

a bit of a shame if it ends like this, deserves to go out with a good send off for what he has done for us.

I've not been that bothered with the off field stuff, yes he seems to cause most of the trouble himself but it can't have been easy to focus with all that shit happening in the background, hopefully he can get things sorted, think Saudi the best place for him rather than Europe.
