Needs to improve on creating chances, but if you put KdB and Foden around him then it's not an issue as his other qualities then shine through.

poor game, didn't get involved as much as he should but West Ham knew he was the threat out of 3 in midfield and stifled him out of it, also with Mahrez trying to play in the same areas as him but more selfishly it just impedes him. Needs to adapt to days like this a bit better but when Gundogan and Rodri sit in the same 20 yards in the centre of the pitch doing very little with the ton of possession they have it makes it difficult for the rest when West Ham were so happy to sit and let them have it and just leave Fornals to chase between the two. If Gundogan had pushed on and taken more risks and shown more intent, it would have created more spaces for the rest and giving us more momentum, but it took Foden and Kev and a switch in tactic to create that.

Really hope he is just in bad form and what we are seeing is not his new level.

Was hoping he will step up this season, and takes over from David Silva, but David Silva at his prime was the fucking motor of this team, a heavily reliable creative force, who did win matches on his own with goals and mostly with setting up goals while working hard off the ball.

Bernardo seems lost in middle of our team, does not create the chances, rarely scores, there is not enough space for him, and he does not find the pocket of spaces to unlock deep parked buses.

also tactically we changed for worse, the amount of times David Silva was able to pick an overlapping leftback or winger and create a dangerous chance with that, those times are gone, thats why it is so surprising to see Cancelo doing what he did yesterday with the assist to Foden, but that was a general part of our gameplay 2-3years ago and even before that.

Instead of that Mahrez, Bernardo is just passing it back to Gundogan or CB's and it kills momentum, kills our speed, while lets opponents to relax a bit.

If its the same lets say in next 3-4 months as well for Bernardo, I would be very worried about him.

For me, he’s played his best games in central midfield as the deeper of the two 8s, basically where Gundogan is pootling along at the minute.

He brings real energy there, links the play well and gets forward too. He’s looked far less effective in the more advanced Debruyne role. Playing on the left of the central positions also means he can get outside to provide width with Sterling tucked in.

As an example he played really well there against Arsenal but as is the case at the minute we seem to keep taking bits of the team that show cohesion and then dumping it the game after.

He was never going to be a direct replacement for David Silva as he’s nowhere near creative enough. Obviously he has a lot of other great qualities, but he’ll never be a top quality playmaker.

Bad form for almost a year now.

What is going on? Where is the player from before the Mendy Twitter incident?

Feels like he's had 2 good performances maybe that I can recall.

Gets the least criticism compared to the usual scape goat suspects.

Doesn't appear to be a central midfielder now.

Problem is Foden also showing to be effective as part of the front 3, and we are desperate for a clinical finisher with attacking verve, but when Kev is out we have ZERO creativity from midfield if Foden is not there.

Quite worrying and can see us going for a creative midfielder next summer.

B. Silva: "It’s not been a good season for us, and for me. We’ve got a lot of world class players and competition [for me]. I have Mahrez and Torres, or even Sterling [on the right]. In the middle; Gündogan and De Bruyne, but I need to do better..."

"We find ourselves against teams that don’t want the ball. They’re just waiting for the counter-attack. In this early season, we haven’t managed to be dangerous, to create a lot of chances, nor to be efficient

Bernardo Silva on #ManCity's start to the season: “I don’t really have a good explanation. We have to speak between us, with the manager - if we want to win a title this season, we need to change something. All the teams know how we play

This is what I said on Saturday. Conversations need to be had, what we are doing is clearly not working but pep keeps repeating it and expecting different results. Change is required but is pep willing to change, that is the real question

Form fixed by playing on the right wing instead of Mahrez. No cap (as the youth would say).
