He'll stay for this season because nobody has the money for him, but he'll go next summer.

Completely understand him wanting to leave. I'll miss him a lot because he's dynamite, but he's a young man, he probably wants to start a family soon, and he probably wants his future kids to grow up in a warmer country that's closer to home.

Can't blame him at all for that. He's been a great player for us and, when he goes next year, I'll wish him really well.

How the fuck do you do you know about Bernado wishes and wants?

JJ

bit of a rotation mightmare for Pep if he stays and KDB, Foden gets fully fit in case we trust Torres /Sterling upfront centrally.

but I hope he stays, as the chance of getting a good fee for him is zero. who knows maybe he is not that unhappy as it was reported. even if he is dont really care, many people in the country has shit job for minimum wage and they have to do it to survive. as of now nobody wants to sign Bernardo, i dont see the reports coming of various offers. (hopefully becasue we said to Mendes dont even approach us with anything less than 60m, with the CR misery i would even raise that amount)

he is a great and useful player for us, in possession and out of possession too otherwise Pep wouldnt be picking him so much.

The balace of the team with him in it is very vital.

Gundogan can push forward more if Silva plays.

He has amazing ball control and work rate so when he drops deep our build up is amazing.

And when KdB is fit it's like... hmm what do we do? Same question last season, Pep's solution was KdB false 9 but I think he will want to try strikers this season in Ferran, Sterling, Delap etc.

Maybe the best way to use both is to use KdB as an impact sub, especially considering his age and injuries. If by the 60th minute (maybe even just half time) we aren't atleast winning, get KdB on to win us the game, he can replace Bernardo or Gundogan. That's also long enough that teams probably aren't pressing so hard (if 60th min) so it let's him run against tired legs and Pep needs to think about managing his minutes and injury issues as well.

Not to mention that if even one of the 3 midfielders gets injured, the other 2 are permanent starters, I see no harm in this substitution management in the games to make sure all 3 are regularly playing this season.

Are you really going all in on the back of 'extensive, consistent press coverage making things precisely clear' in this of all months?

How do so many Bluemooners still not know that Pep confirmed Bernardo is unhappy here and wants to leave? Thought it would be common knowledge for any City fan but apparently not.

Broadly speaking yes but the source (s) of his unhappiness are not 'precise and 'clear'. Maybe it's more than just a lifestyle choice and is partly driven by personal ambition as a player?
Maybe he wants be the 18/19 Bernardo again when he scored and assisted for fun and was central to both us and Portugal not the first player replaced when things aren't going to plan? It's possible he feels he needs a new challenge to achieve that.
I have no idea I'm just speculating much like the poster who said he wants to settle down and have kids in sunnier climes. The full picture is not common knowledge that's the point.

Last season, maybe in March if I remember correctly - Pep played KDB as a LCM once and he didn't try that ever again.. Bernado played as RCM and the game was easily won. I don't understand why Pep isn't considering this formation:

-------------------Rodri / Gundogan--------------------------
------Bernardo----------------------------KDB-----------------

So, in this formation - Rodri has a great support by Bernardo and possession is easily retained - even against bigger teams.. And KDB also plays in the middle and can dribble, shoot, make crosses and etc.

Yes, he can't cross from the Right Wing as many times as he would like - but truth to be told, with the current strikers - it's unlikely we are gonna score that many goals from the crosses and also - Mahrez or even Bernardo are great with the crosses - so that's not the problem.. (From the team`s perspective and not KDB`s individual statistics)

Otherwise - I don't see why Pep hesitates to play so.

For me, this solve all our problems in the midfield and Bernardo is happy :D

PEP PLEASE....

I have some sympathy for him. He's apparently been looking to go for personal reasons for over a year now and he'll probably be disappointed that no club in Spain was able to put something together for him that City would justifiably agree to.

Although for the sake of honesty, I'm selfishly glad he's still at the club. He's a genuine top class player and a top class Bert too.

Used to always play and live with a big grin. Long gone.

I do not remember Mendy defending him over the racist incident which, if true, must have sorely disappointed him.

With Mendy gone, who knows, a new lease of life?

Do we still sing the Bernado song, I have not heard it this season, though I am deaf, and normally drunk.
