I go back to a post I made two seasons ago. We should build a team around this fella and tell him so. He’s so important to us.

Bernardo is fantastic. A vital player for us. He (along with Foden and now Alvarez) brings us energy. When he came on last night the tempo of the match went up. One reason for this is he is so technically brilliant he can trap and pass the ball faster than anyone else to keep the ball moving. We were really slow in our build up last night till the changes. We can't afford to lose Bernardo. He is one of the best five players in the world at present in my view. Which is why Barca and Real both want him.

The lifestyle is just a bonus over there. Why Pep is so good is that he tells the players how success is what matters once your career has ended. You'll look back and want to remember the big games you played, the buzz you had and the fun along the way. You won't look back and think "I could have made another £10m" you'll look back and think "I could have won x, y or z". That's why he keeps our performance levels so high. It's fine to win the league, but go and win it again, and again, and again and that's what you will remember.

Why are you acting as if Bernardo is going to some no mark team for a big wage. He could go to Barca, win several titles and become one of few to have won the Ligue 1, Prem and La Liga as well as finish his playing days in the lifestyle he wants. Nothing wrong with that and I won't hold anything against him.

He has won all he can at City domestically, do you blame him to want a new challenge.

He's right about the weather though, been in Lisbon over the weekend and it's wall to wall sunshine and predicted to be over 30 degrees next week.
Be gutted if he went but I can see the attraction of living in a better climate.

He’s had an amazing 6 years at City, Manchester in the winter months is horrible as is every City in England. No way would I blame him wanting to live somewhere that suits his lifestyle.
