No Bernardo, no party
Always intrigued me that players admit that football careers are short but then stuff like this about wanting a different lifestyle during their playing career rather than after.
Not a slant against Bernie at all, just a point of interest from my perspective.
Everyone is different, unless you know the man and have spoken to him there is no way you can say it's bollocks. The lifestyle point is bollocks, it's the money they want. Barca throw around stupid wages, that's why he wants to go. It's a short career so go and get paid a shit load. The lifestyle is just a bonus over there. Why Pep is so good is that he tells the players how success is what matters once your career has ended. You'll look back and want to remember the big games you played, the buzz you had and the fun along the way. You won't look back and think "I could have made another £10m" you'll look back and think "I could have won x, y or z". That's why he keeps our performance levels so high. It's fine to win the league, but go and win it again, and again, and again and that's what you will remember.
Why are you acting as if Bernardo is going to some no mark team for a big wage. He could go to Barca, win several titles and become one of few to have won the Ligue 1, Prem and La Liga as well as finish his playing days in the lifestyle he wants. Nothing wrong with that and I won't hold anything against him.The lifestyle point is bollocks, it's the money they want. Barca throw around stupid wages, that's why he wants to go. He’s had an amazing 6 years at City, Manchester in the winter months is horrible as is every City in England. No way would I blame him wanting to live somewhere that suits his lifestyle. The lifestyle point is bollocks, it's the money they want. Barca throw around stupid wages, that's why he wants to go.
