I don't think you could. I think we still needed a focal point.

I thought Kovacic was the most likely one but he was allowing Rodri so much freedom to do whatever he liked with the ball.

Should always play against newcastle. Seems to score every time. That goal today was the absolute pinnacle of technique. He hit a cruyff with his wrong foot on the volley. Just wow.

He seems to like playing against Utd too:)

I remember Pep said in the preseason that the next step for Bernardo was to start scoring more goals. I think it's cool to see him actively trying to do so. He's on pace to smash his league goal-scoring high.

Think that goal sums up Bernardo more than any other moment. An inside-of-the-heel flick goal, a header on the rebound like against Real Madrid, a rocket goal from just outside the box like against Forest... we don't see these moments often but he's very capable of them. He simply chooses to spend most of his time doing what's most important for the team instead.
