Jolly unlucky not to bag a hattrick today. His bending shot before we even opened was not that far wide and the keeper looked beaten.

His current form can’t be far off his best ever for us and that’s unbelievably high praise.

Whatever we do in summer, whoever we wanna go and buy, whichever position we think is in dire need of strengthening, by far the most important piece of transfer business we’ll do is ensuring he stays. He’s the heartbeat of this team.

Great player and great person. We are very lucky to have him in our side.

Back in the same form that saw him destroy bayern and real madrid.

unplayable when hes like this. Just in time for his favourite dippers.

Such a gem of a player. Technically the best in the team, attitude wise incredible, workrate number 1, understanding of the game - there's not many better.

Easily the most underrated player in the world. It's because he has no ego, doesn't try and take any limelight.

Love everything about this guy and he's stepped up even another gear these last 18 months like fine wine.

If he's one of the club's highest-paid players then that will surely significantly limit the number of teams that could pay his release clause and give him a new deal. Unless he's willing to take a pay cut to join the likes of Madrid or Barca. A long way off, anyway.

Interesting that Pep said in the presser that the next step for him was scoring more goals and you can see that he's actively looking for his shot more.

From football365.com today:

In terms of versatility in almost any role, defensive prowess and attacking genius whenever the circumstances dictate, and an ability to either control the tempo of games or operate outside the rhythm of matches if required, all to an elite and consistent level, there might never have been a more complete player in Premier League history.
