Pep has made a point off praising him overtly even though nobody asked in the last few post matches, never been more convinced that he's gone.
 
If we could get £40m+ for him I'd be inclined to take it. He's been brilliant over the years but perhaps it's the right time to move on. Think this season has been a big wake up call with the form drop-off of our older players (and injuries)
 
He works his sock off and I love him for many reasons.

But the sooner he is gone the better imo. He has no invention. He holds onto the ball too long so it slows down our game. He seems to foul for no reason. And he is always prone to a very silly pass that puts us under pressure.

But who has his level of stamina?

Sorry you missed the game today he along with Kova were brilliant. His movement and recycling of the ball was class and an example to any young midfielder wanting to play in that position.
 
The problem this season has not been Bernardo, it’s been the almost complete collapse in consistency ahead of him and behind him. He’s currently averaging an astonishing 3,530 minutes for the 8 seasons he’s been here and he’s on track to beat that number this season.

I saw him have a lot of the ball yes. And that's one of the things I love.

But just recycling the ball isn't necessarily great in itself. He needs to be adding more to the attack or allowing others to.

I definitely agree that him playing this new role is miles better than him playing out wide.

It's it all combined imo. We need to abandon the slow ponderous style. We've been better of late for sure but it is still there and Bernardo is part of it just as others are.

Crossing my fingers that Pep has a plan with new players and a new approach. Not just trying again what worked great years ago.
 
Mental that after 5 years we are still saying that Pep shouldn't play him on the wing

We know he's better down the middle, he's always been better in the middle, we found out when KDB was injured in 2019 that he's better in the middle...and today he proved again he's better in the middle

Was class today, he still has so much to offer he's such a classy player

Not opposed to selling him still if we get a good offer, but from now till the end of the season he should always be played central

Bernardo is the kind of player we need to keep. He’s integral to keeping possession, can play a multitude of positions, and his movement around the pitch when out of possession is beyond compare. Alas, as I said above, the problems we have had this season have been due to injuries and the almost complete collapse in form of our attacking players, yet for some reason Gvardiol and Bernardo- two mainstays- cop the criticism.
If Guardiola goes for even more basketball football, then we will have some exciting games, to be sure, but we will be no better than most other teams in the league, and Rodri won’t last a season shuttling between eighteen yard lines.

He can’t. Guardiola acknowledged that the system used today has its place but could soon be sprung if used too often.
 
Thought he was exceptional today.

Wild to think a decade in people are saying Pep just needs to play with pace. I sometimes feel like Pep's time here has given me a proper footballing lesson and people have sat through the whole class and learned nothing.

Bernie understands the system better than anyone. Plenty left to give us next year.

From the position he mainly found himself it was the correct and only thing he could do. He very much controlled the tempo of the game until the subs were made. He was there to allow kova and Lewis freedom. Not every player has to do the same things in a team.
Its the best position and role for him and the team imho.

There were dozens of people in the Guardiola thread, just a couple of months ago, saying football had left him behind because it's all about pace now.

Reading it almost made my eyes bleed.
