Usa 16.5 Europe 11.5
No chance

I said the US were favourites and outlined why, didn't put a score.
I still think the team ethos plays into our hands. We have won many from a huge underdog position, in fact the only recent one we lost was when no one gave the USA a chance.

I fancy us.

Rumour has it that Betfred are going 2/1 on the Europe win between 12 and 2 oclock. Maximum £200 bet and can be done in shop/online or by phone.

All over that.

What would everybody pick for the foursomes? For me its:

Donald/Garcia
Rose/Poulter
McIlroy/McDowell
Molinari/Colsaerts

If I were the 2 team captains it would be:

D Johnson & Z Johnson v I Poulter & J Rose.
J Furyk & B Snedeker v R McIlroy & G McDowell.
S Stricker & T Woods v L Donald & S Garcia.
M Kuchar & K Bradley v N Colsaerts & P Lawrie.

-- Thu Sep 27, 2012 12:29 pm --

I pointed some stuff out, the team spirit will have to be immense I think because it's away and because we have to carry players like Kaymer.

The Americans benefit from home soil, it is a resurgent team as the next generation has come through and they are all pretty much equal, all within the top 20 apart from Furyk but he's the wise head and although he's thrown away 2 big tournaments this year like Monty I think he'll be steady in the Ryder Cup, all won big tournaments but it is the most evenly balanced American team in a long while I think, I also think that with Tiger having been taken off his pedestal in recent years he isn't as dominant a presence as he used to be and I think that will help team spirit.

In previous years it was always "well Tiger and Phil have won this, what have the rest of you done?", and the year they won "08" Tiger didn't play, but they nearly won at Celtic Manor Europe were just lucky they had that 1 great session that got themselves far enough ahead to compensate, I don't think our weaker players are as good as the American's weaker players and on their turf I think that will tell, I reckon it will be close though.
