Well, we’ve seen - 57m vs 42m - so it looks done & dusted. Shame really cos Thiam will end up having beaten KJT in only 2 out of 7 events, yet will claim gold. KJT herself and everyone else has known it for years, but javelin is the issue - she needs another 5 metres to ever be able to be in a position to beat Thiam.

On a different note, they’ve buggered up the schedule big time, so the individual 400m and 400m Hurdles finals overlap with the 4x400m relays - seriously, why couldn’t the individual events be done over the first 3 days??

She's probably won gold with one good javelin throw.

KJ-T is never going to be able to compete in the throwing events with her weedy arms.

She missed a real opportunity to put a bit of distance between her and the competition in the high jump.

She’s been brilliant this year, first time I’ve seen her where her attitude wasn’t all glum and miserable. Her problem will always be her throwing events are so poor, but every credit to her for that.

Yep, agreed.

If she focuses on the positives, she achieved a PB overall, but you are right about the HJ - she holds the British record at 1.98, so she really need to max out on that next time (and I course hope Thiam doesn’t jump 2 metres)
