Got naff all to do with the red hat goons.

It's suburbia and the swelling of their Wall st invested bank accounts.

Those whose well-to-do whose social morality may well differ from their financial future security.

Difficult choices for many.
I actually agree with you here.

Politics is tribal. Everyone is offended by everything.

I voted to remain in the EU, but I was on the fence for a while. If I had voted to leave, I don’t think I would have been comfortable telling people; the level of discourse is now so low in this country that you get labelled EDL/racist within 2 minutes. Just look at the Brexit thread on here; everyone is a thick, gullible xenophobe who was tricked in to leaving.

There are people in the key swing states who will have moderate or left wing families, friends or colleagues, who might want to vote for Trump because they might be financially better off now than they were 5 years ago. They won’t be comfortable saying this though, because even though they know what their intentions are, they are fearful of being labelled a racist or xenophobe.

There is no reason to be a shy democrat, because the democrats, more so than the republicans, have a platform that is run partly on identity politics. No one is going to say ‘oh my god you voted democrat you are a racist’.

I don’t think most people are like this, but definitely 3-5% ish.

They vote for a racist what do they expect? A pat on the back and a lollipop?

Ok well glad we’ve all cleared that up and you’ve both shown why there’s absolutely no reason for anyone to be dishonest to the pollsters lmao

I've no doubt the 'shy vote' does exist. To what extent I don't know.
As I said before back 2018 I asked the extremely intelligent family of my niece/godchild in Chicago why Trump won and was totally surprised by the logic for it being given to me.
They would not admit that they voted for him, as they agreed he was a vile human being, but they left me with the distinct impression they had.

I would think there is quite a few like that that are not MAGA hat wearing gimps, that have a modicum of intelligence and as such would like to keep their own prejudices/bias private.

Yeah, and he lost by 3 million votes. He will lose this election by god knows how many million this time and may win via the EC, but the idea that there is this shy vote waiting to sweep him to power doesn‘t really stack up. What will give him power is a system which is designed to temper rule by the majority.

On this thread 98% can't see the grey areas.

They're the sign carriers that advocate voter shaming and not seeing or understanding the nuances involved for quite a few.

Those seeking wealth security and the disaffected citizen are more important in this election than any other.

Voting for Trump shows pretty clear itentions - none of them good.

Can't entirely agree with that mate. You can be misinformed or, as last time, half the country, including many black and Hispanic voters, decided to vote for a non-politician.

I voted Brexit, don't have a racist bone in my body, yet the narrative was that anybody who did was subsequently a bigot or racist.

I went with my gut and what info I could try to understand, knowing I was voting with no sinister undertones.

People can be wrong, they don't need to be pigeon holed as racists. If anything, it puts backs up.
