Trotsky explained that it was what he called the Petty Bourgeoise who were the most likely to support Fascism, by that he meant small business owners and the middle class. As they preferred order to chaos. It needs a leader that they have confidence in and who will keep there status intact. He thought that the middle class do not do extreme if their business is doing well, but can be enraged in times of hardship to support Fascism. The petty bourgeoise in despair and hard times will see Fascism as a bulwark against corporate interest.

Umberto Eco in his 14 attributes needed for fascism to coalesce states that Fascism appeals to the "frustrated middle class"
The petit bourgeoisie are drawn from a far wider pool that small business owners. Many professions are principally comprised of the petit bourgeoisie, including teaching.

Trotsky explained or Trotsky opined?

..and Hugo Chavez... who died 7 years ago... And the Clintons.... It's beyond farcical now. Yet his cult will lap it all up blindly...

His legal team look like the kind of crackpots you'd find operating out of a dark room above a laundrette for no win, no fee... Obviously just stretching it out for as long as he can to dupe more cash from his supporters...
Even Giuliani must know by now that it's done and there's no coming back. As you say, it's about fleecing supporters and getting revenge on the population for dumping him. It's a shame the GOP can't grow a pair and impeach him now to save 2 more months of this grotesque spectacle but too many of them are in too deep, and whilst the majority of the cult are still on board they won't risk the blowback.

If this current debacle doesn't demonstrate to people how the US constitution is unfit for purpose, then they are totally beyond help.
But what do you suggest? If the President isn't going to abide by the rules, laws, traditions, and history of his predecessors, and his party is going to be complicit in ignoring them and enable such, what Constitution is fit for purpose? Anyhow, I'm not sure I agree -- the courts are doing what they are supposed to thus far; this isn't going anywhere. It's a pantomime. A pantomime that will allow Trump and his supporters to live in a fantasy land where they had the election stolen. And -- far more importantly -- will allow Trump and those in on the Trump con to fleece the snot out of the hapless.
