I stand to be corrected but the bit that I saw was Trump telling the interviewer that he had denounced white supremacy but didn't actually say "I denounce white supremacy" So even whilst making a statement that he should have made much earlier (obviously) he managed to squeeze in yet another lie.
 
So we all agree they should vote the lesser of two evils? Pity they only have two options.

What I would say, and I'm sure this will come as no surprise to you, is the black community is not homogeneous. I've seen some real ding dongs between the Nigerian and Afro-Caribbean community and of course there are many black folk who do not define themselves by the colour of their skin.

What I would say is the root cause of so much friction you encounter in here, is your outright rejection of the existing political system.

The system may well be shot to fuck, but it's the only game in town, you have to engage with it.

Because if you don't engage you end up being irrelevant, and I know of no victory ever won by the irrelevant.

Actually, rather than financial oppression being separate, it's intertwined within a system, which makes it a byproduct of the results of that system. However, I'm happy not to 'dig into the weeds' overly so on that subject matter.

Your second point on different experiences of Black culture is simply culture clash/ class clash. It's not really so different than White levels of culture clashing between toffs and working class or regional differentials. A mindset is a mindset and seeing through that shit is the endgame.

So, my 'rejection' of a system is about the promise it has made for decades to be 'inclusive' of all people, but this hasn't really happened, has it? It's divided people more than anything else and the wealth gap continues to grow at the expense of those at the bottom, in which my demographic happen to occupy the most, who suffer the most harm from it.

It's like being invited to a card game and being allowed to sit at the table and either

A) Watching the cards being dealt to everyone but you and it pass you by

or

B) Being given selected cards designed for you not to participate that much further.

After a while, as I'm sure you'll agree, you'll develop a 'wtf and wtp' mentality against the game.



*Now, on a side note, I wish to thank you for engaging in ACTUAL conversation and engaging with another POV. We may not agree, but it makes all the difference to the thread.

There are times when one can see a bridge that can be crossed, where it looks a certain bridge to relative safety.

Let's say Sanders was that bridge and a rope bridge at that. Not perfect, but safe enough to cross at.

When that bridge is literally burned and you're presented with a Biden bridge that was built from an old rotten and decaying tree, whose 'new' platform promises to carry your weight, you become less certain of the outcome of that crossing because of the pitfalls yet to present themselves.

You know it's going to happen, you just don't know when.

That's the Dem party promise in a nutshell.

No, Doc, he denounced it three times. I watched it back again for confirmation. On his third denouncement he called out 'ANTIFA' for parity (I know he still doesn't get, but that's not the point).

As you know, I have no love for him, but if it's the game he has to play, he's played it and it's all gone quiet.

That's a very convoluted analogy, However accurate.

That's all well and good but Trump's bridge is a single plank, that only reaches half way into the river, but he promises it will end up looking like the Golden Gate, honest. Probably better, as his earlier promises have prov... actually don't look at the earlier promises, but that plank is the best plank.
