But lots of counting to do yet. Michigan & Wisconsin had significant poll leads for Boden, well outside the margin of error. And the 2nd biggest WI county has been comprehensively won by Biden. PA is closer so could go either way yet.
Well yes, but the bookies are getting firmer on a Trump win as time passes.
Can't stand him, but there you go.

A mistake that should have been learned after 2016 - and will hopefully be learned after 2020 - is that black and latino voters cannot be lumped together as a single cohesive unit. They represent tens of millions of people from varying backgrounds, social classes, and walks of life and tend to vote as such. For whatever reason the media and general American public has not caught on to this, it seems
Yes, I appreciate my comment was 'broad brush' - just what I was hearing on the radio. Not pretending I understand the forces at work tbh.

You think the average Trump fan makes that distinction?
I know your comment was made lightheartedly. But people fail to realise just how conflicted many Americans are - many of them apparently normal, reasonable, rational and educated people - over which way to vote. They are far from all being nut jobs.

Of the Trump supporters I know, without exception, they think Trump is a dangerous imbecile, but they hold their noses and vote for him anyway. Because to them, Biden is a bigger threat. Biden is seen as being as left as Jeremy Corbyn and they fear huge tax rises and crippling of the US economy affecting the prosperity of everyone.

That may or may not be nonsense, but that's their fear. It's a bit like me having to imagine voting for Corbyn last time. Absolutely unthinkable.

The democrats may as well just pick someone like Bernie if Biden is viewed as a socialist

Saying Biden is a socialist is like saying Corbyn is a Tory.

I actually thought your comment was pretty spot on - didn't mean it as criticism just my two cents on *why* black and latino voters have turned out for Trump more then expected. I think I've had a few too many beers at this point to make much sense, sorry

Trump strong favourite for all of Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina and Wisconsin.

Game, set, match. That country is nuts.

This does raise the obvious question in that have we been so obsessed about Trump that we've ignored the fact that there's always going to be a huge demographic that will always vote with their wallet, regardless of leader?

Trump is no doubt a divisive figure but someone is voting for him. The hate people have for him did not materialise in votes. Lots of close calls but it looks like he has won another election.

Few states to go, Biden failed in key battlegrounds.

Farage having his entire self handed to him by Neil.

NF: "Fraud is obvious to see"
AN: "Where is the evidence of that"
NF:"There is no evidence of fraud, it's too new"

Straight in on late votes shouldn't count, no basis explained, just parroting.

Apparently surge in Latino, black and elderly support for Trump looks like it has confounded the predictions in favour of Biden. The media only seem to have convinced middle class educated white people that Trump is racist.

Regardless of whether this election returns a Trump presidency, Democrats must learn why it was ever close. Not just that the vote went along the lines of education or race, but why.

I think that we know those people exist. We call them Tories over here and there's quite a few of them ;) Whether those people are accurately accounted for in polling though, perhaps not?

And remember, the reason why the postal ballots haven't yet been counted is because the GoP sued to stop them being counted until after the polls closed:

The whole reason there is a 2 month lame duck period is because it takes time to count all the votes
