2021-2022 Annual report - City post club record profits and revenues

Would be fucking hilarious if they got bought out by an oligarch or arab state.

I would prefer Mike Ashley.

Probably nothing more than a partial sale like Sheikh Masour did to the Chinese company, forget who, and Silverlake.

I doubt very much FSG would entertain dirty Arab money. ;-) More likely to sell to another American investor.

What's the minimum amount a "nation-state" can own of a football club before it's state owned and therefore has limitless wealth that must be brought into every article.

I suspect Liverpool being bought by Qatar would lead to an overnight reassessment of whether you can really associate a club with their owners. After all, are they not just temporary custodians of a great community institution?

Surely a great investment opportunity for some middle Eastern terrorists rather than depositing it in the usual banks like standard chartered earning a minimal deposit rate

Exactly. The point of the investigation is to have the investigation. This way it implies or suggests wrong doing or corruption. Therefore any success we have had or have is in someway tarnished. This is the real and true reason the investigation has not been concluded. As you say it is in to it's third year now and it is virtually certain they haven't found anything. If they had, they would have been all over it and the footballing world would know about it in no uncertain terms.
The investigation is reported to have begun in March 2019 so it’s all but four years old. Even Merseyside Police move faster than this.

It’s been well covered by more informed posters than me but, as it’s so old, by way of reminder. Der Spiegel claimed that the Premier League's investigation is looking at three areas, firstly underage players were pressured to sign contracts through monetary payments.

Secondly that club sponsors in Abu Dhabi provided a portion of their payments to the club, with the majority provided by Sheikh Mansour.

And finally that former manager Roberto Mancini received a portion of his compensation secretly by way of a consultancy contract.

That was China no? So in actuality we are part state owned, which I find hilarious TBH.

I have a feeling something’s afoot behind the scenes. And with Liverpool announcing they’re trying to sell methinks it’s not good news for the cartel

I think Newcastle been bought out with someone like our owners who want to invest not take out has tipped them to sell up

This wont go down well , we post record profits (and thats not including our summer transfer business) and the Dippers are being sold to the highest bidder , cue the Dipper venom and disbelief.
Khaldoon has got our books in the oven, Gas mk 7 :)

Wonder if the morally challenged Dippers would have an issue with Taliban Holidays.com on their shirts :)

I honestly don’t understand why it’s so difficult for other fans to grasp the concept that the best/most successful team earns the most money. United and Liverpool are the biggest culprits yet they have been through it themselves. They had periods of sustained success and lo and behold they grew bigger fan bases and enjoyed the financial fruits from it. City become successful on the pitch and revenues grow off it. It’s the natural order.

In any other walk of life people accept that this is how the world works. What percentage of people had a Nokia phone in the late 90s/early 2000s? How many have them now? When Apple came along with the iPhone in 2007 nobody was like “oh no, you can’t do that, you’re a nobody”. It was just accepted as progress.

Big companies are interested in growth potential. City started from a pretty low level and growth potential was huge. It has paid off handsomely. Mansour could sell us tomorrow and get every penny back plus plenty more. In any other industry (or at any other club) it would be considered fantastic business. It will be considered fantastic business when FSG sell up and realise a huge profit on their outlay. Only in football and specifically at City is owner investment frowned upon. It’s a complete stitch-up narrative peddled by media shills from certain clubs.
