2022 Rugby League World Cup Final(s)

Just seen Maurice Lindsay has passed away. A divisive figure for some, not least for the original super league proposals, but can't argue that he helped move the sport forward from a pretty difficult/moribund place and he re-established Wigan as a force (for good or bad depending on your allegiances!).

Not watched any rugby for a while. The end of the footy season is just too big to keep up with it. But these are the months where I really get into it.

Decent game tonight: Wire v Leeds. And State Of Origin is on on Wednesday.

Leeds learning how to negate a pack with mobility it seems tonight. It was about time Leeds wonders put in a big shift. Hardwire makes a difference as someone who looks like he knows what he’s doing along.

Leeds were good tonight. Well worthy winners. Should be good with confidence in the second half of the season, and with Cesar to come in.

Wire have been weak in the pack for a few years now and but from what I saw earlier this season, and tonight, Wire’s pack look as weak as ever but defensive structures are nowhere near good enough. We haven’t kept a single team to single figures in a game yet this season, and have shipped 40+ in three of the last four games… we conceded the second fewest tries in the league in the last two years under Price! That’s simply not good enough.

I’m not that knowledgable on rugby league defences but Wire struggled to hold the opponents up on the line with 2 or 3 defenders in proximity that they will need to sort.

Cesar has been a weak link for the Rhinos so far this season so hopefully he will be better when he gets over his injuries. Our Middles haven’t been making any yards in previous games so we are very reliant on wingers as first receivers. Hopefully, our forwards will get a bit more confident and start to make the yards needed.

Leeds still unable to beat opposition with Adele t pack.

Wigan are flying. Glad Salford managed a couple of tries

Some teams haven't played for 3 weeks now, and then have a 2 week gap, so 1 game in 5 weeks. Pretty poor for fans having nothing over the bank holiday weekend after the usual lack of fixture for the challenge cup final the week before.
