IMG - predictably cash-related not sport-related, on the face of it.

Some teams to be fixed in the SL (so no more Leeds flirting with it, or Wigan some years ago). Sorry Wakefield, you're not important enough (probably).

Off-field organisation to be a factor in rating clubs for exemption, so the richer/more income-friendly clubs will score higher.

Add the two together and no relegation, but invitation only when they want someone new in, with someone being booted out to make way. Sporting relegation? Ha.

Well said. Relegation could be scrapped after next season. That would be a mistake IMHO.

It's even more offensive than I expected, financially logical but socially blind.

I don't know how SL rules get changed, but this is going to cause a huge revolt, right before the World Cup. The crowds in the England games are going to protest, I hope, and very obviously.

You get Yanks involved and this focus on cash being kept by the acceptable few - they are a pox on UK sport and its going to get worse given the £ v $ situation at the moment. They can buy up entire sports here for peanuts

Relegation/promotion keeps getting scapped and brought back as the game stagnates without it. Now promotion is down to off the field activity..

Nothing for historically successful clubs like Swinton, Oldham and Halifax, but probably try and give the newer clubs, in terms of success, such as Bradford and Leeds a leg-up.

Shits all over non-super league fans again. They should just have 4 clubs playing each other in Super League and the reast break away back to winter rugby and fuck the spoilt bastards off.

NRL Grand Final this morning, 9.30 (Sky Sports Main Event)

Penrith v Parramatta

They’re derby rivals playing in the final against each other. Should be a cracker.

Parramatta have won 4 GFs but haven’t won one since 1986. Penrith have won 3 GFs with their last being last year and this bring their third GF in a row.

Leigh v Batley at half six, £m game to join Super League.

Leigh have averaged 66-5 in their last six games, including a 64-6 win v Batley a couple of rounds ago. Batley are given a +40 lead in the Handicap, Leigh are 1/150 to win.

Swinton v Doncaster for the 2nd promotion place to the championship, Swinton 1/5 or -12 in the Handicap. Would have been a good game to go to at Sale FC if it wasn't for the 2pm kick-off today. Swinton won 2 weeks ago 32-12 in the same fixture, but also lost to Doncaster at home 12-26 in July.
