Brilliant tournament. Sad really that it doesn't get the money/ audience that union gets. Compared to this I think the six (however many it is now) nations is a load of wank for plastics. Good to see the pitch at the swamp get a good trashing too.

Union is shite to watch these days imho.

It was better when it was amateur.

Rugby league is such a great sport but it’s so under-advertised and there’s too much of a small international calendar that people just aren’t exposed to it at the highest level often enough.

I once reckoned up that in the time that England in football, cricket and rugby union had all played between 95-110 games each; England rugby league had played 30 games.

There were more international RL fans when we used to have Great Britain tours against the Aussies home and away.

Increase our international calendar and we’d have a bigger international game.
 
A couple of years ago the Super League sponsorship deal was a few free pizzas. Hopefully, IMG will help to raise the profile of the game but they seem preoccupied (so far) with structural reform rather than increasing the popularity of the game.

Hopefully, it really will be Sir Kevin Sinfield before long. I’ve just read that not a single person has been knighted for association with Rugby League when the figure is 27 for Union
